I would like to know whats the best shoot ranges (indoor/outdoor) in Houston. Also any information about gunshops in the houston area too would be appricated. thank you

Do you Houston guys know if "Carter's Country" is still in operation in Houston? I used to shoot at their place up north, near Spring, when I lived there in the early/mid '90's.

i'll second what highvelocity said

i prefer to shoot outdoors and they have a pretty nice facility there with just about any shooting sport represented

i like to shop carter's country...not the lowest prices around, but pretty good selection to browse

but fountain has a better selection and lots of accessories to look at as well...pretty nice guys over there as well

larryf1952...the outdoor pistol/rifle/skeet ranges are still in full operation at the carter's in spring...i like to shoot there on occasion, but it does not have the plethora of helpful/safety oriented range officers as american shooting centers

Try "Marksman" in Soth Houston. They used to have a nice indoor pistol range. No BS. They are serious people and nice to do business with I took my class there for my TX permit a few years ago. The business used to be just off of Hwy 3 (the old Galveston highway).

Indoor shooting range

Hello all,

Another indoor shooting range is "Top Gun" (kinda pricey , and picky on ammo to shoot) they are between Richmond and Fountain View on Beverly Hill.

Used to be a member of a private club, PSC, in the Pearland-Alvin area. They have a nice outdoor range - rifle (50, 100, 200, and 300 yds), pistol, shotgun, and archery. Fees were reasonable, less than $100 per year in the mid-90's.

Carters

still has their gun range and store out on treschwig (sp?) road.
25, 50, 100, 200 yard. decent range, medium sales staff.
friendliest indoor that i have found is sportsman supply in humble just north of houston.

Any contact info or website for this club? Wife's parents live in pearland and he may enjoy a closeby facility.

Carter's turned all the 200 yard lanes into 100 yard lanes quite a few months ago. The range in Humble is Sportsman's Outlet.
