When I get time, I'm going to take some digital photos and sell some knives that I never use. I want to get up a little money for a Kel-Tec P11 at the next gun show (an outfit there usually has the best prices on Kel-Tecs).

Just wondering what folks here carry their P11 in. I don't do IWB, so I'm looking for strong side carry outside the pants.

Do some of you just use the clip? Does it keep the gun secure? I'm sort of paranoid of any system that doesn't offer trigger protection or a retention strap.

When I first got my P-11 years ago I only carried OWB. It was slim and light so it was no biggie in a nylon pancake holster. Later I decided to try IWB,got some cheap holsters, hated the holsters but learned to love IWB because it conceals so well. There wasn`t much out there for Keltecs then so I sewed up several holsters of my own design, good leather, hand boned. They worked much better. Then one day I though, hey why not try the belt clip? It looked cheesy and I had reservations but I figured it was cheap and I`d at least keep the steel frame pins that come with it. Much to my suprise I LOVED IT! It reduces the bulk of the gun to that of a .32 in a leather holster. It`s comfy (I`ve fallen asleep many times with it on),secure and fast. My P-11 holster collection has been collecting dust for several years now. The only trick you should know if you try one is that it`s not really a *belt* clip, you put it over the pants and *under* the belt. That way the belt 1) holds it tight 2) covers the clip. I have played volleyball and other sports with my P-11 clipped in place as well as helping several people move and I have never lost it or even had it move enough that I had to put it back. The trigger pull is long enough and relatively heavy so that I don`t think covering the trigger guard is a real issue. IMO the belt clip is the best thing about the P-11. If you still insist on an OWB rig I`d suggest a super thin kydex rig from FIST. They`re light and thin (but still well made and secure)so they don`t make the package any larger than it needs to be. My favorite for my P40 is my Slideguard from High Noon Holsters.

It rides high and only extends about 1" below the belt, so it conceals very well. It's a belt slide so,although I wear it at about 5 o'clock, I can easily slide it to 2:30 when I sit. I can drive my car for hours with no discomfort.
This is the last holster I'll buy until it wears out.

Only one I've tried is a $10 Uncle Mike's IWB. Size 12. That may be one size too big. I had to tighten it up a bit by sewing near the triger guard. Works fine, now. Well enough that I've never felt the need to buy another. But then, I'm a cheap ol' guy.

I dream about getting a Milt Sparks Watch-Six dual talon.

Thunderwear. Well concealed, comfortable, accessible, convenient, w/spare mag, always has a covering garment without wearing a coat in July. Or January. CB3

Don Hume's JIT slide, or H715 (IWB but worn between the belt and pants)... it works quite well for me.
