I finally got everything together. I picked up a Winchester 94 XTR Big Bore in .375 Winchester, and got a few boxes of Buffalo Bore cartridges. Took it all to the range today, and it was an excellent time. The cartridges push a 255 grain bullet at 2,000 fps. The rifle came with a Williams receiver sight, and my friends and I all managed 2" to 2-1/2" groups at 100 yards from the bench, then we started plinking steel plates, bowling pins, and general targets of opportunity laying on the berm from 150 to 225 yards. Felt recoil was not a problem for any of us, it felt just like shooting a .30-30. I do not live in a straight wall state, but I will still be taking this rifle out this season. Thanks for the excuse to try something new.
