It used to be the case (I'm not sure if it's true any more) that you could save a bundle on Ruger magazines by ordering the individual parts directly from Ruger, and assembling them yourself (which takes about a minute, and is ridiculously easy). This might be worth checking out. As a general rule, the parts are worth more than the whole, but apparently not here.
The individual magazine parts are not available on Ruger's web site. What you need to do is call their Prescott, Arizona, location at 336-949-5200. I found them to be extremely helpful over the phone, and they take credit cards for parts orders. Back when I did this several years ago, the lady readily acknowledged that buying the individual magazine parts was cheaper than buying complete magazines. This is something that, understandably, Ruger did not / does not advertise. The dyed-in-the-wool Ruger fans knew about it. (Maybe Ruger has more recently changed its pricing. You would have to call them and find out.)Out of curiosity I decided to check this out. I could find no parts, just complete magazines on shopruger.com.
