what's everybody's favorite out of the box auto-loader for best trigger? let's go sub $800 and above $800 handgun. would the XD be up there for sub $800?
1911 for best trigger is hard to argue. Lets say in double action or XD or glock style (no trigger jobs ,right out of the box) which would be best. I am going to go with Sig !!!!!
SIG with DAK trigger, and no, I am not kidding. I carry autoloading pistols for defensive use, and I have taken a real liking to the DAK trigger for quick shooting at close range in a hurry. It makes an auto almost as good as a sixgun. Now, if long-range stuff is desirable, fired from a rest, then I still do like the 1911, though my tastes in 1911 pistols start at about twice the price set in the original post.
i dislike glock triggers, i would say for a ploymer framed gun i would go with the xd they get better with time and the two i have now are perfect.
1911 are sweet and the single action triggers always seem to be nice. in keeping with the da theme that i love so much i really love the para lda triggers.
The best non-1911 trigger i've seen on a sub $800 pistol is the SA pull on the DA/SA K100, I find it actually crisper and shorter in reset than most of the non premium or tuned 1911s I've tried. The DA trigger is not bad either but doesn't stand out like the SA.
1911 for SAO. For DA/SA autopistols, the best out of the box triggers I've ever felt have been the Italian made Beretta M92's and Cheetahs. The older SIG-Sauer P-series autos are a close second, I don't think the newer SIGs have as nice a pull as they used to have.
For DAO autopistols, the best IMO would be Para-Ord's LDA, nothing else in its class comes close.
I think the triggers on the RIA "Tactical" and the Witness Elite Match are way better than you'd expect given the guns low price -- its easy to spend twice as much and get a much worse trigger.
