Is it rumor or true???????

I have heard that out of the entire XD line up, the XD 45 ACP shoots the best. Is this a true statement or B.S.??????

In your opinion and which XD shoot well and which ones don't measure up:
1. XD 45 acp 4"
2. XD 45 acp 5"
3. XD 40 4"
4. XD 40 Sub
5. XD 9mm 5"
6. XD 9mm 4"
7. XD 9mm Sub
8. XD 45 acp Compact

Wow... probably be hard to find someone who owns all those without being a Springfield market rep.

I own an XD9 4" and it shoots fantastically. No "break in", no stovepipes, no light strikes. Just accuracy and reliability. It's a heck of a wondernine.

I have a 4" XD 40, I love it, no problems, though I have 2 (out of 12) factory 12 round magazines that don't feed righe all the time (use for pratice). I've shot the 40 subcompact, lots of muzzle flip, nice gun. I haven't shot any of the others.

I've got an XD9 4", its been great and I love the way it shoots. I have shot the 5" XD9 and I like the extra inch of barrel.

I've shot an XD-9. It handled very nicely and was very accurate though the sights seemed set a bit low for me.

I own an XD-40. It handles very nicely and I like it a lot. I consider the .40 S&W to be a challenging round to shoot but that is the round not the gun.

My friend has an XD-45. It handles very nicely and is very accurate.

see the trend :neener:

I think the entire XD line is pretty much destined to be considered "classic".

Any XD is probably capable of shooting better than the person holding it. Some are probably a bit better than others. What kind of accuracy are you looking for? Do you want combat accuracy or bull's-eye. Combat accuracy is usually able to keep all the bullets in a 9" circle at 25 yards. Bull's-eye accuracy, for slow fire, is able to keep all your bullets in a 3" circle at 50 meters, rapid fire would be something in the neighborhood is 9" at 50 meters, give or take a couple of inches. These figures are just rough estimates, however I hope they make you think about what kind of accuracy you are looking for. There isn't any XD I would worry about not being able to place virtually every round center of mass on a person at 25 yards, as long as I do my part.

My only shooting experience with the XD's is with the 5" tactical 9m/m,
and the 4" service model .45 ACP. Both, shot great and to POA without
any problems. Other persons that I have talked too, brag about great
accuracy from their XD's; and they have 'em in any (and all) calibers
and flavors under the sun. ;) :D

I have a XD-9 that's as reliable as can be and have fired a XD-45 a few times that feels (besides the recoil) and shoots exactly the same.

I own:

XD9 Service
XD40 Service
XDLE Service (.45GAP)
XD357 Service
XD40SC

ALL are INCREDIBLY accurate and fine pistols...

XD357 is BY FAR the most accurate at-a-distance tack driver I have ever owned...

XD45 is my next purchase... 14 rds of .45acp in a XD platform - WOW!

XD9 SC
XD45 Tactical.

Never thought I would own two of the same type of gun, but there is just something right about XD's for me.

My favorite is still the Hi Power though,

XD45acp service
9 service
9 sc
40 service

I carry the SC on a daily basis and feel very comfortable with it as well as the others, but tend to shoot better w/the 45. May be the ammo, may be the slightly larger grip, may be that it recoils slightly different... Not sure why but the groups do seem tighter.

xd45 service 4"

Shoots the best. Actually I have shot my .45 and a service (4") 9mm and a SC 9mm

I actually couldn't even tell I was firing the 4" 9mm it was so smooth.

the SC 9mm to me was ok but felt small in my hand.

Everyone I let shoot the .45 says "I like the was that xd shoots"

For what it's worth.

I've shot a buddy's XD45 Tactical quite a bit. It works fine and dandy. I rented an XD40 Service, once. Had quite a few problems in just the 100 rds I put thru it. But, rental gun, their crapola ammo, or the fact that the .40 S&W cartridge and I have a longstanding antipathy towards each other, any nnumber of things could have caused it.
