Just a question: Do the Gen4 G19's have FTF or FTE problems? I've heard about those and I wanted to make sure Glock ironed out these little kinks.
They did, and some may still have the problem. Some of the recent Gen 3 models also have had similar problems. Glock is a good company. If you have a problem, they will fix it for you.

Why not a 1911? Part's are plentiful, easy to shoot, rather simple to break down and clean and all kind's and color's of grip's. It's a no brainer to want one so i say, great choice. You will enjoy it.

My two semi-autos

S&W 1911 5" Bbl..45 ACP stainless
& a CZ 75B in 9mm Luger//Parabellum

I llike them both. both are accurate & reliable

The 75B can be carried 'cocked & locked" with
it's thumb safety, but I usually drop the hammer
to the half-cock or 'safety' position as CZ calls it
for the Double Action first shot, then follow on
single action shots. it's easier to field strip with
the browning hi-power style barrel lug and
non-removelable(intergral with the slide) bushing.

My shooting buddy has a G19 and it's an excellent
firearm it just doesn't fit me llike the CZ 75B

the 75BD - the B suffix means it has a firing pin
safety CZ added in the early '90s, the "D" suffix
stands for 'Decocking' lever it replaces the
thumb safety of the 75B There'salso a 75
SAO = Single Action Only. Other mods
in the 75/85 line are variants in size & features.

9mm is cheaper to shoot & either the 75B or
a 1911 can be - with conversion kit - fire the
super economical .22 LR -and- if you're a new
shooter - practice practice practice
