In the way of 9mm I would say natchezss.com they have umc approx.$113 a thousand and blazer brass caesd is a little cheaper than that, but wal-mart is a great place to get 9mm for cheap, I normally get it from wal-mart unless I have several things i need to order to save on shipping!

I don't know if they have Academy Sports stores in FL, but around here it is cheaper to buy ammo there than at walmart, and usually cheaper than online unless an online place is having a really good sale.

+1

For me, if I'm not buying imported, steel-cased ammo (Wolf, Brown Bear, Silver Bear), I get the best deals on brass-cased ammo at Walmart. Winchester "White Box" 1000 rounds of 9mm will run $113.40 before tax, and 45ACP will run $199.80 before taxes. In my neck of the woods, no one can come anywhere near the WWB prices at Walmart on 100 rounds of 38 spl, 9mm, 45ACP, and 380. I've seen other places advertise cheaper prices, but once I pay shipping costs for 1000 rounds of 45ACP, I'm better off just buying it from Wally World.

Interestingly, I just bought a reloader and am reloading 45ACP. I found out that Winchester vigin brass runs about $16 per 100 (I saw it for $23/100 on one site!) and Winchester primers are $20/1000 (or $2 per hundred). That ends up being $18+ per 100 just to have primed brass (no powder and no bullets). Throw in the cost of the bullets and powder, and you can't reproduce Winchester ammo with new Winchester components for the same price you can get them from Walmart. If I ever deplete my 45ACP brass, I'll buy more WWB 100-rnd packs just for the brass. Being able to shoot it will be an added bonus. :D

For 9mm ammo:

There is an Academy Sports in Pensacola, Fl, according to their web site. If you live near there then try some CCI Blazer aluminum case 115 gr. FMJ. Members here say Academy sells a box of 50 for around $4.

The best price you'll get on bulk on the internet is the above load at www.natchezss.com

Walmart in my town sells Winchester value pack (100 rounds) 115 gr. FMJ for $12.02 out the door. If it shoots good in my nine then I'll probably stick with it. That's a very good price considering you don't have to buy multiple boxes.

FWIW, I wouldn't buy a bunch of the same ammo. Try a little first to see if functions fine in your pistol.

Even if you don't live close enough to an Academy, it might be worth the drive if you're willing to fill up a truck with it. Maybe you can do a special order of like 10 cases at a time and then pick em all up.

Seriously. $3.86/50. You can't beat that.

Shipping might be an issue, but I've had good results with the reload 45: www.outdoormarksman.com

I use a lot of the Miwall 9mm and .38spl reloads available from Outdoor Marksman. But given you would be paying for freight going across the country, it may not be a good bargain.

Cheaper Than Dirt or Natchez Shooters Supply may be closer to home and cheaper when buying in bulk for target or plinking use.

With .45ACP, I would certainly look into reloading. I have cut the cost of my .45ACP ammo nearly in half by reloading. Right now it's costing me about $6.00 per box/50 for target ammo. 9mm is cheap enough that I can't save any money by reloading for that caliber.

A fellow can buy once fired brass that will last darn near a life time! I had 20mm ammo can half full of IMI's TZZ87 Match brass that lasted me 18yrs of reloads. It was lost due to case splits or lost in tall grass etc. 45ACP brass lasts forever! You best bet on 230gr ball is to buy it from Cabelas Win 230gr FMJ bullets run about 78 delivered to your door!

If you buy primers in lots of 5K you can do better then 2 per C.

If you look at using Titegroup you can get 1400 loads per pound!

Work to Hodgdon's suggested max load, it is accurate in my 6 different 45's. It drills holes out of my USP!

Academy is great if you can get the teenagers behind the counter to stop watching TV for half a minute. After waiting in a line that didn't move for ten minutes yesterday, I gave up and took my business elsewhere. Same problem with Wal-Mart.

I guess you get what you pay for, one way or another.
