Hi,
I've just moved here from New Mexico and have been trying to find out where people like to go for reloading supplies, and guns. I collect C&R and have an interest in Long Range Shooting.

So what are some of the best Stores in the DFW area for shooters, reloaders and collectors?

I appreciate your help. Thank You.

Maq, Dallas Texas

I buy most of my bullets and powder online or at Ft Worth or Dallas gun shows.

For years I never bought a gun at Cheaper Than Dirt because their prices were too high. Lately though I've bought several guns at CTD because of their good sale prices. Just a few days ago I bought a second Ruger SR22 for $299.

If you get get around Weatherford there's a store in town called Gibsons that has some good prices.
There's also a small gun store a little South of Weatherford that get's some nice used guns at sometimes a good price. It's called "The Gun Store"

There's a store called Bachman's Pawn. I've never been to the store but I've bought a lot of guns from them at the gun shows. They are one of the biggest dealers at the shows and usually have the best prices.

Sharring Experience

I went to Cheaper than Dirt just the other day and was surprised that they weren't cheaper than dirt. I've just moved to this area and have bought some out of their catalog, but of course those were the sale prices so it makes sense that not everything is on sale!

Two days ago while trying to find some 7.5x55 ammo, I was told by a worker at CTD (didn't have any) to go a little North? to a place called Mickey's Ammo Store.. Well it wasn't north or a little ways but 30 miles south east. I went there anyway and they had some WW1/WWII rifles and pistols, along with an array of assault rifles and hunting rifles. The prices were just ok... They are located just outside Caddus, Tx, 28 miles east of Dallas on HWY 30.

M2Carbine.... thanks for the tips... anyone else know of some great places in DFW area?

Thanks Maq

Well, if you want to check out a LOT of really cool specimens of classic military arms in one place, check out Jackson Armory in Dallas. Also, I'd go to Gunmasters in Plano and Cabela's in Allen. Good luck!!

Bachman Pawn and Gun.... very underwhelming if you actually go to their store. They may have a large gun show presence and big ads in Shotgun News but the retail walk in side is quite small.

I will second Jackson Armory, a huge variety of neat old rifles.

Military Gun Supply is another interesting place to check out.

Where to Go?

Luke the Drifter,Marktx.....

Thanks for the info...this helps a lot, I'll be sure to check these out in the next coupel of days. Maq...I'm sure there are others like me around DFW trying to find good places to check out .... Thanks Maq

You could try:
TargetMasters

1717 S. Jupiter Road

I bought a Taurus revolver from them a few years ago, pretty nice shop. With a handgun and rifle range. Decent prices at the time. You might try the link below for the dates of upcoming gun shows, like the one this weekend in Fort Worth.

I live in Mineola, about 100+- miles east of Dallas and shop at at a local place called The Ponderosa. A guy named Rob runs the joint and has by far the best prices anywhere in East Texas on any new or used firearm and ammunition.

There used to be a gun shop/ pawn shop right of Centerville at the Sunnvale Garland city limit that used to have a fantastic selection of older rifles and such. Not sure if it's still there though, been a while I've been in that neighborhood.

Hope some of this helps. Good luck hunting.

Best Places for Shooter and Reloader Supplies

Went to the gun show and found some discounts on ammo for swiss with one dealer having 7.5x55 for 14.95 (Wolf).. Not bad.... No Gp11 though... Some great deals on 7.62x54 and 303British, and 308/308 Nato!! I may have to buy a surplus 308 so I can take atvantage of all the cheap standard and match 308!

There weren't as many Military Surplus Rifles as I thought there would be, but there were a lot of interesting assault type rifles of every type and caliber. One intersting variation that I hadn't considered are the newer assault rifle blanks that your own 9mm/ 40/ 45 semiauto pistol now fit into to make an assault looking rifle in the caliber or your pistol! This was my first time to see this and I was intrigued.

Still looking for some more good places to get guns, ammo and reloading supplies, targets, cleaning supplies, manuals, instruction, gunsmithing etc. I appreciate everyones responses to my request... Thank You

Just FYI but, the Market Hall Gun show in Dallas is the biggest around, as another had mentioned. And the best too, in my opinion. Might try The Armory in Mesquite, and there's a few, 1-2 off Beltline in the Addison Carrollton area I just remembered about vaguely. And there's a gunshop or shooting range somewhere off Mockingbird near Harry Hines.
