I have the CZ 527

It is made to shoot the steel cased stuff, and does it quite well. I can shoot with wolf 124 gr SP to about 1 to 1.2 inches at hundred with this ammo.

Also Ruger Ranch in 5.56 nato shoots both brass and steel quite well.

I posted what CZ actually says on the website, so that's probably the best source of info there is. From my CZ 527M manual it says, quote,

"Characteristics features of all versions are;
...
high functional reliability in all environments, even with ammunition made by various manufacturers and with different types of bullets."

"Operating Instructions...
Ammunition
Use only factory manufactured ammunition of appropriate caliber, which are in compliance with CIP regulations, (International Commission of Firearms), or SAAMI, (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute Inc of the United States). The use of other cartridges could damage the firearm or cause injury to the shooter."

This is ALL that is in my CZ 527 rifle manual which came with my 527M several years ago.

My WASR 3 AK in 5.56x45 is the perfect weapon for shooting cheap steel cased ammo.

The steel case stuff isn't particularly accurate in the rifle, it'll generally hold a 5 to 6 inch five shot group at 100 yards with Wolf, Tula or Monarch in 55 or 62 grain versions.

But when loaded with 52 grain Berger flat based target bullets in match prepped Winchester cases with CCI BR4 primers and carefully weighed charges of Varget, that same rifle is fully capable of shooting 4 to 5 inch groups at 100 yards!

That's why it's perfect for shooting the cheap stuff, putting high grade ammo in it is like giving a bottle of 1929 Chateau Mouton Rothschild to a wino, sure he'll drink it, but a couple cases of MD 20/20 would have the same basic effect, last a lot longer and be much cheaper.

I don't have one and I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I'd think a CZ527 would give a much better return on shooting quality ammunition than my WASR 3 ever could.
