I've seen a few of these recoil pads that slip over the right shoulder talked about. Are they worth it and do they work?
I thought about even making one myself... maybe a piece of something that could spread the recoil across my entire shoulder instead of a focused point like a gun stock. I think this focused point is a big reason for the recoil being sharp. For the pad maybe a 5"x7"x3/8" rectangle semi flexible/pliable material such as a soft encapsulated lead sheet would do the trick (maybe roof flashing but laminated to something like vinyl or a flexible plastic).
Anyways, curious if there's something out there like this. Recoil isn't really that bad (I've shot rifles and 12GA's since I was a kid) but I get tired of that sore shoulder feeling after a while. Call me a wimp!
