I have been looking at ImpactGuns.com but I have heard some VERY bad things about them. However, I can't seem to get over the fact that they have EVERYTHING. Handguns, Class III, Rifles, Tactical rifles, accessories galore.

But I don't wnt to risk spending 50$ at my dealer to get a gun shipped and have IG tell me the gun is out of stock, right after I call to make sure it's in stock.

I've been looking at other sites, but can't find one with the same selection and ease of use than IG.

I'm in the market for an AK, and am looking at the CZ VZ58 or the SAM7-13. And trying to find the best deal.

hm. Buds has the CZVZ58, really good prices.

Has anyone here had an impact guns experience?

$50 seems high for a transfer, especially if you are paying 100% upfront.

Centerfiresystems, JG Sales, CDNN I've had great experiences with. Transfers around here run ~$20.

See if you can find an independent gunsmith with an FFL that is willing to order. I've found I can get much better deals that way.

You have to pay your FFL up front before they will send the seller their license? $50 is high for a transfer fee and paying in advance is not the norm.

Transfers around my neck of the woods are $25.

Many places that show large inventory show what they can get, not what they got. Items on hand is usually the inventory of their supplier. Buds is that way. Impact probably is too.

I had no problem with Impact Guns on the one firearm I bought from them. Lately I have purchased from Bud's with complete satisfaction.

Why wouldn't you just call to confirm the gun is in stock before placing the order?

I use the GunBroker.com action the most and have never made a purchase through Impact. I have been very happy with all the purchase I have made through GunBroker I always read all the auction details and seller reviews and have had very good luck.

I just had a bad (or half-bad), experience with Classic Arms.

I ordered two Izzy dragoons and two CZ 82's AFTER calling to make sure they were in stock. A week later I called back to find they had shipped the Izzy's but back-ordered the CZ's, but they now "had them in" (the CZ's) and would ship tomorrow.
A week later, I called again and was told they hadn't had any "for a while" but were expecting them this week.
A week later I was told they had them and my CZ's would ship "tomorrow".
A week later I was told they hadn't had any for a while - at which point I canceled the order.

The Izzy's were nice and promptly shipped. They lied to me, over and over again about the CZ's. If they hadn't repeatedly lied to me, I'd have been quite happy to let the back-order ride until they had them in stock. They lied and so lost a customer.

I've had good luck with the local Impact Guns and have bought two AR lower receivers there. The first lower they had in stock and when I showed them their sale price on the internet they price matched it with no argument. The other wasn't in stock but they ordered it and again matched the price on their website. This way there was no transfer fee so the overall price ends up pretty good and you just walk in and buy it face to face. I haven't had them do a transfer from another site so don't know how that would work out.

Overall I like them and the 25 yard indoor range. Fairly good selection of guns, accessories and parts in store. Decent people in our store too. If you have one local it's not a bad way to go when they have internet sales.

just picked up a Remington 700 from Budsgunshop.com. Arrived earlier than they claimed it would and was in great shape. Very easy process.

Can't help you with the types that you want, but your rifle 'tastes' will probably continue to change, as with most of us.

I'm not trying to be a 'wise guy', but if you (or anybody else) don't already have an M-1 Garand, maybe Carbine or 1903, the CMP is always reported to be the best value. In two-three years, prices could easily be $200 higher for M-1s.
My Service Grade was picked out by a friend at Camp Perry in late July and the bore looks like a mirror.

The excellent value and very good price (no gun show seller wants to match) is because most guys want milsurp/civilian version types such as ARs, "AKs", VZs, M-1As etc.

I bought an M1A from a dealer on gunbroker.com. The price was right, the service (delivery to my local FFL) unflawed and way cheaper than the local gun store and no mandatory contribution to my state/local government in the way of sales tax. I did my homework first -- looked at sales history and complaints.

This was my first purchase from gunbroker.com and I was VERY nervous about sending more than $1,500 to a stranger in another state.

But, why pay for the overhead of a retail shop? When I was shopping, I crossed ImpactGuns off my list as they were not price competitive with any others on Gunbroker. An M1A at Buds, is the same as one at ImpactGuns is the same as one from Joes' Discount Guns. I bought my M1A from Oak Hill Enterprises in PA off Gunbroker, BTW, which was fine.

I found that many large gun dealers have postings on gunbroker.

Alternatively, buy from GalleryofGuns.com. They will ship to your local gun dealer and guarantee the purchase foreever. The "rub" is that they do not carry some sigificant brands (e.g., Sig Sauer) and if the gun is very popular (e.g., Springfield M1A) it will be "allocated" which means you cannot order it through GalleryofGuns.
