Best solution for mounting a gun in a truck

In a collision where the vehicle frame flexes violently sometimes a windshield will pop out whole .

I use that same Safariland paddle holster in the right hand model daily, they're excellent. Since the action of the thumb is more of a "brush back" motion than a downward unsnapping motion, the gun just springs into your hand on the draw!

That's a great idea!

Stay safe.

The alien gear holsters are way to bulky for carrying but their surface mount holster is perfect for car/truck mounting with their big Velcro pads. The tension on there holsters are adjustable so you can set them for the retention force that works best for you.

I have been using an alien gear holster to mount a XDs 45 in my car for over a year and have been very pleased with it. I like that I was able to adjust the placement and tilt for a perfect draw by just peeling the Velcro apart and repositioning the holster.

Have a new F150, the center console is cavernous and can accommodate anything from a Kahr cm9 to a G-19. The question thus becomes the best manner to secure it inside so it doesn't move around while driving.

It IS about a means of securing a handgun in a holster or similar retention device inside a truck console

TIA for your suggestions

This safe is really designed for the most common size carry guns, although it will still fit up to a G17 size gun. Since it is 7GA steel it is secure when bolted in place when you need to leave your gun. It has a holster to keep the gun from moving around, and will fit large consoles. Since this model has a door that opens 90 degrees, when you mount it in a console with the hinge forward the gun is positioned correct for a right handed draw while keeping the trigger covered.
