for me that would have to be the xd line. they get even smoother after use too. i think they are a lot better than the glocks, and better than most others if not all.

The lightest/crispest/fastest reset trigger on a striker-fired handgun is certainly the H&K P7. For me (shooting one belonging to a friend), it was almost too much of a good thing; I "doubled" it a couple of times.

Next up is the S&W M&P. It is a little "scrunchy-crunchy" at first, but improves with use and is about a 6 lb. pull weight with a short stroke. The reset point is not very distinct but can be improved upon.

There are the Kahrs, but their kind of DAO trigger is probably not what the OP had in mind.

I like the trigger on my XD, its alright I guess. The Kahr DAO trigger is nice and smooth but its long and heavy also. I guess thats why I like the XD trigger. After shooting the DAO Kahr 50+rds then goin to the XD it makes it feel really light.
Ive never fired a Glock or M&P.

There have been good reviews coming from some guys who got to shoot a new M&P9"Pro" at a training class last weekend. They said it was equal if not better than a standard M&P with a trigger job. If I decide to get an M&P, I am definitely goin to wait for a Pro series.

The new XD-40(M) is quite nice. Similar to other XD's, but shorter and crisper.

Otherwise, I think highly of XD and Glock triggers. I have not had the chance to shoot an HK P7.

I have never shot a tuned M&P but a XD with a trigger job has a trigger that is hard to beat.

Also most people would be surprised to feel how good a Glock trigger can be after someone that knows what he is doing tunes it.

I would also have to say that the best striker fired trigger belongs to the H&K P7, but they are becoming harder and harder to find.

Next in line would have to be the Walther P99 AS. These pistols have a much better trigger than any Glock, XD, etc. The P99 AS is very crisp, and can be de-cocked to a "double action" mode.

asking "what is the best" is highly subjective. i think glocks and XDs both have excellent triggers and can be modified to make them even better.

I concur with the HK P7 trigger as being the best striker-fired trigger around. The OP asked for which was the best polymer striker-fired gun (assuming the gun's frame polymer, which rules out the P7). In which case, I'd have to cast my vote with the Springfield XD--of the various striker-fired polymer pistols I've handled (Ruger SR-9, S&W SW9VE, 2nd-gen Glock 21, 3rd-gen Glock 17, 3rd-gen Glock 23, XD-45 Service) I like the XD's trigger the best--smoother than a glock trigger, lighter than the Sigma's trigger.

HK P7 followed by the M&P .357. When I picked up my M&P357 I got to try a bunch of them in different calibers and the .357/.40 seemed to be the best triggers. Not that the Nines were bad.

Many equate "light" trigger with "good" trigger - I don't agree.

I've not shot the P7, but among M&P, Glock, XD, PPS, and Kahr, I thougth the Kahr was head and shoulders above the others. Very smooth.

Per the O.P.'s specification of plastic construction which eliminates the P7; I think the XD may be the best out of the box. Strangely enough, the Taurus OSS is not bad at all. The Kahr P9 is good, and so is the Sig-Sauer P250, if you don't mind the long travel, long reset revolver type pull.

A tuned Glock or Plastic M&P will be very nice.

I'd like to see a tuned P99. The stock gun is not great but I think it has potential. If it were common enough to generate the kind of cottage industry the others have, it could be very fine.

I love the Glock trigger fired from the reset. The glock reset is very light and short, the only other striker fired I have used is my Sigma 9VE and a friends Sigma 40F.

Everyone ought to do themselves a favor and find someone nearby with a Steyr M or M-A1... it's pretty easily the best polymer striker-fired trigger I've experienced, especially from the factory. They're great guns otherwise, as well.

I love my glocks and they are my go to guns but my hs2000(xd) has a much smoother trigger imo.

yeh my steyr kicks the **** out a glock trigger. but it has been unrealiable, even after 2 trips back to the factory and almost 100$ in shipping fees.

I am thinking about getting a M&P, but their trigger feels cheap, like it will break at any moment. the pull is nice though. I was wondering how teh XD stacked up, and I see that it is better than glock based on this site
