I'm looking for my first weapon light to put on a full picatinny rail on a pistol for hog hunting at night. It doesn't necessary need a combination laser, but might be interested in that too.

Most important feature is the light needs to be green light or red light. The hogs will spook with white light. And I'd prefer an actual green or red bulb. I've tried the colored filters and it really cuts down on the intensity of the light and really cuts down on viable distance for shooting.

Weight is also important. The lighter the better as the gun is already fairly muzzle heavy.

Cost is also a factor. I don't want to spend a huge amount on the light as it will only be used a few times a year.

Even if they could press the pressure switch with their cloven hooves, I couldn't see how white light would spook them being behind the trigger! :D

Cry once and buy a SureFire, the next down the list is the Stinger, I used to be a MagLight fan but their quality has gone away.

What about one of the OPTRONICS systems, they make a unit that mounts on a 1" scope or magazine tube of a shotgun the battery pack is worn on the belt and is rechargeable, it comes with a red filter. I use mine on a shotgun for night predator hunting coyotes in the thick woods here back east.

Go for the higher power light I think mine was under 50 bucks the bigger one was ? 75.
