Thanks for all input.
I have an FM Argentine Hi-Power that I put similar parts into (C&S safety/sear/hammer) but that one has Novak 3-dots. Obviously the slide had to be cut for those sights and I've always been happy with that install.
I bought the MkIII just before Browning/FN announced that they were discontinuing them. I always wanted a true Browning (as opposed to the FM) and found one I couldn't pass up. As I mentioned, I really hated the weird rectangular dots on the factory sights and when I ran across the Meps I thought they'd be an inexpensive solution while fitting the factory dovetails, which the Novaks/Heinie etc would not. Looks like I should have followed the "buy once cry once" maxim.
I really like the pistol and plan to keep it, so a different set of sights may be in my future. Time will tell!
