Get tackled off the bike and you have problems.

My thoughts exactly. I may actually need to step away from the bike at some point and I don't feel comfortable doing that with a firearm strapped to it.

Thanks for the heads u, tmoore912. Those are worth looking into! Does it adapt well if your body changes? I still have a few more pounds to lose.

Yes the holster adapts very well. It has a large range of adjustment for waist size. It has a huge Velcro piece that you initially set in place on the front, and then you use 3 heavy duty snaps to take it on and off. You use the snaps so that you do not wear out the Velcro over time.

This is how I wear mine. With my shorts over it, instead of it over the shorts. I have a Glock 17 in it in this picture and had just finished running 3 miles.

I used to carry an LCP/neoprene pocket holster in a jersey pocket, but it became too much of a hassle as I cut weight and distractions as rides got longer.

I've carried lots of ways when hiking, biking and running.

Running in hot weather, I've just carried in a camelback or a fannypack that also holds water bottles. I'm currently trying to come up with my own design for this spring.

For hiking I just use my normal CCW tuckable holster.

For biking I've used said holster and sometimes the front handlebar bag.

@tmoore-

That looks like a great design. Does it interfere with situps or other ab or core workouts?

Are you carrying a G17, or a smaller Glock?

And if you were to get one again, would you opt for the smaller size PT2 holster? Could you fit a spare magazine in the extra space of the main pocket of the PT2 holster to reduce the overall size of the device?

@leadcounsel

It does not interfere with situps or core workouts. Just this morning I was at my gym stretching on a mat, crunches, situps, Leg Presses, Squats, Dumbell Lunges, all while wearing the PT-ONE with a Glock 19. No one had a clue I was carrying a pistol.

I can carry the 17 just about as easily as the 19.

I would order the same thing if I had to do it again. I like having the extra room for a full size pistol and a reload if I want it. I never put anything else in the main pocket made for the gun to keep from interfering with the draw or coming in contact with the trigger. The other small pocket on the PT-ONE gets a reload, a knife or keys.

If your a minimalist and wear really light running clothes, then I could see the PT2 working better for someone.

Looks like they also sell separate mag pouches to slide on the strap. That looks like a good combo for the smaller pt2.

Plus the add on mag holder lets you position the mag on standard off hand side for faster reloads.

Your poll is missing an "I don't" option.
If I can't carry I don't ride! That is the great thing about a car or truck ---you can put it anywhere and it's not flopping around all over the place and digging into me making an already uncomfortable situation even worse! :)

This just happened the other day. You never know when or how.

65 yr old defends himself from 2 teens...

Sorry for the thread high-jack.

That's not a hijack. I'd say it is pretty close to the subject matter.

Now I will hijack my own thread and say that the media bias is ridiculous. The title reads "Cops: Man, 65, kills teen who knocks him off bicycle " when it should read "Elderly man defends himself after being knocked off of his bicycle and assaulted."

:fire:

But clearly this is an example of why off body carry isn't for me. On body carry just fits into way more scenarios. If the gun isn't on you, it may not be near you when you need it. I'll stick to on-body carry or just leave it at home.

Someone should make some workout gear with belt loops. Surely CCW'ers aren't the only ones who have need of a belt to hold things while we bike or jog.

I appreciate the comments on ab workouts, but I live in NC. I can't conceal carry anywhere that requires me to pay admission. I'm a little confused if a gym membership is qualified as an "admission fee," but with my current routine anything on my midsection would get in my way. I'm mainly just concerned with miking and jogging.

I wear a ctac W/G19 sinched up tight with my carry belt under my running shorts. Its not the most comfortable thing but it beats packing a pocket knife and wishing for the best:D
