has any one ever seen one while out hunting? me=no but i had a very long long night out camping in Missouri in oct of 06. what we herd and listened to most of the night made the hair on your arms and neck stand up. what scared us the most was that we had 2 of the meanest husky malamutes with us. i was fine till the dogs went down to the pond to see what all the co motion was. all you hear was 2 dogs yping and whining, and they lit off for home and never came back. what ever it was also spooked the cattle earlier in the night. and they moved from one side of the pastchor to the other. any way i grew up at the omaha hennry dorrly zoo. my father was the steam train engineer. and you would have to be their early in the mornings to lite the fire and have steam up to operating pressure by 9am. and when the sun comes up over the missouri river all the animals wake up and roar or make the noises that that animal makes. what i hear in the ozarks that night was like nothing i ever heard before or since. my other? would you shoot a big foot and put the mith to rest or not.

would you shoot a big foot and put the mith to rest or not.

No, not unless it was intent on doing me harm. But then I wouldn't shoot a Gorilla, Elephant, Rhino, or any of the Big Cat species except for the same reason. Have I seen one? No. Do I believe they exist? Anything's possible.

Since there is virtually no physical evidence of a bigfoot and biologists say such a creature would not have an adequate food source to support a necessary breeding populations in the hundreds, I doubt it. That said, If I see a bigfoot, a black panther, an alien, a chupacabra, or the loch ness monster - hell yes I'll shoot it.

dont forget that the panda bear was thought to be a mith to. less than a 100 years ago i think. and a lot of sea life thought to be extincted has been discovered in the last 20 years or so. me personally. i would shoot the first yety. to put an end to the mith. and hope that nobody would shoot another one. it goes both ways with crypt o zoology. some say yes and some say no. i like to think that theirs something out their bucking the odds. but its highly unlikely.needless to say. i dont go camping out in remote areas any more without a gun capable of dropping anything on the north American continent. the night in ? happend just out side Fordland Missouri. i still camp their twice a year and i take a tap recorder with me now

Regardless, I wouldn't shoot it.

Because the chances are about a Gazillion to 1 it is some idiot dressed up in a gorilla suit, and I would go to jail.

rc

yes thats a risk iv thought about many times. you better be dam sure it aint some idiot in a monkey suit.

aliens is a completely diffrent thing. if their are funny green and gray aliens. they have the techno to travel through time. time being that their coming from light years away. i dont think they are going to worry to much about the pea shooter you point at them. the odds are that they do exsist when you think about the vast regions of space. and their aint a lot we could do about it either

Agreed, aliens would probably get the drop on me. But the question wasn't whether I'd win the fight, it was whether I'd shoot. I'd rather be tried by twelve jurors than probed by six aliens!

It's the Chupacabra's you have to worry about.

So far the only one I have seen was on Scooby Doo and the monster of Mexico.

Whether they exist or not I dont know but I have heard that it is illegal to shoot them in several states , go figure , I personally wouldnt shoot one , what if his family came looking for revenge ? thats a large hairy boot up my a##

What state has a law against shooting something that officially doesn't exist? Besides, I wasn't saying I would scope one from 300 yards away and take a shot, I meant if one approached me. I think that would count as reasonable fear for personal safety.

Ok I dont have any hard evidence , but I have been told that it is illegal in several states , when I get some spare time I'll try and find something to back up that statement .

I think several states' legislatures stuck their tongues firmly in cheek and declared Big Foot a State Treasure or some such thing. The old LawDog "Giggle-snort".

As long as folks don't get all serious about "out in the world" or "here at THR", no le hace...
