well i started the range session out at 10yds because i really wanted to check accuracy and 10yds is a realistic especially for such a short barreled pistol. then i got froggy and went out to 15yds because of the challenge that is going on right now in general handgun forum. any way here are the pics of the targets. ammo used was Blazer aluminum case ammo 165gr fmj. all groups were shot from the standing free hand postion.

here are the 10yd groups

here are the 2- 15yd groups. it really startes to open up, I know this is due largely to the ammo used.

and i got froggy even more and decided to go out to 20yds and here is the results.

Handgun Impressions
i know this gun is more accurate than what was shown here because i have done better with it. i love the handgun and i am very proud of the better groupings that i know it is capable of.
edit: like i have said before i love how well balanced the sc xd's are and how fast they get on target when the need arises. the recoil is on par with the service model, and esaily controled even during the fastest firing, and during controlled pairs and mozambique drills.
Rds Fired
150rds of the Blazer aluminum case ammo was fired, throughout the range trip.

Malfunctions
there was only one and i really don't know what was at fault to tell you the truth. what happened was when the rd was stripped off the top of the magazine it kinda stood straight up and kinda stove piped inside the reciever i guess you would say? it is kinda wierd. but easily fixed.

Ammo opinions
out past 10yds the ammo really started opening up and i know that it is a short barreled handgun and all that but i have done better with other types of ammo that is for sure. at 20yds it was hitting about 4" high i would say. which is wierd. the ammo's accuracy performance was splotchy and inconsitant, but i think that it is good range ammo and for doing drills.

Not as Dirty as i Thought!
there wasn't hardly any carbon build up on the usual places outside the barrel and dust cover/ rail like normal. the feed ramp looked real good. the only thing that really got filthy was the inside of the barrel. easily fixable.

conclusion
I just can't wait to get to the range with the service model and see how she stacks up! i do need to get the sc on the benchrest and get down and dirty, but i personally think that the xdsc did perfectly well and complete it's mission just fine.
