Does anyone have a picture of a cocked Bisley Vaquero they can share? Over the weekend, I took apart my .44 mag Bisley Vaquero to give it the once over and replace the factory springs with the Wolff 17/30 kit. Took a couple of tries but got everything back together and it seems to work fine.

However, the trigger seems to be rubbing my finger in a place I didn't remember. When cocked, the front part of the trigger is exposed from the frame. This vertical surface is rubbing my finger during draw/fire practice from a holster. I don't remember it doing this before. Is this normal? Is this one of those details my mind has just forgotten, or did I put the trigger back together wrong (even thought the gun seems to function correctly)?

Anyone have a picture they can share of a cocked Bisley Vaquero so I can see what the trigger looks like? I did notice that the New Model Vaquero has a different trigger design, with a smooth curve all the way up the front. Was it redesigned to get rid of this issue?

Thanks.

I don't have a picture, but yes... the top front edge of the Bisley trigger is exposed when at full cock. Looks the same on both the Blackhawk and Vaquero Bisley models.

Here is a link to the 1st of a three part article from Real Guns on Bisley trigger improvements.

Links to the 2nd and 3rd parts are at the bottom of part one. Great pictures and explinations of the entire disassembly/assembly process.

Good Luck...

Joe,

Thanks for your reply and the links. That series of articles is what I referred to when taking apart and putting together the Ruger. I though I was OK, but just having done this for the first time, I'm sensitive to every little thing, and I just didn't remember the trigger rubbing my forefinger during my mock draws and fires.

It seems like they redesigned the trigger for the New Model Vaquero, so that it's one long curve -- no sharp edges. Think that trigger would fit the Bisley?

Thanks again.

Probably - I know the innards of the New Vaq are almost completely cross-compatible with the larger frame.

However, both at rest and cocked, the trigger will probably be a little further forward as the inner curve in the New Vaq trigger isn't as "deep" as the Bisley trigger. Not necessarily a problem but depends on your hand size. If your reach to the current trigger isn't too extreme, give it a try, it's a cheap part and you can always go back.

The New Vaquero trigger might work on the Bisley model, but it's going to leave a large open gap. The window in the Bisley frame is larger to allow for the Bisley trigger.
