Now here's something you'd not normally expect to find. This is a consecutive SN set of Black Powder Bisley's on a Cartridge frame. However, they are both Cap and Ball guns.

To load, you have to take the cylinder out of the frame. They both have a full length extractor, which is fully funtional (Yet useless), along with a standard cartridge loading gate....the hammer is for a percussion cap.:)

Very unusual pair of guns...

Based on the 1873 Single action. Cabelas sold them last year. They came with the small loading press stand. They were designed for the UK where you could have an 1873 however you are limited to black powder cap and ball only. the hammer is offset and so are the nipples so that it can not be converted to smokeless. everything is slightly offset so that it can not be converted. They are a neat thing to have if you can not shoot cartrigdes. However i would pass on it myself.

I understand that Uberti is making them for the European market, but some importers are bringing them into the United States. I've seen standard Single Action Army models, but you have the first Bisley.

I think there are some folks in Washington that believe that's exactly what we should be restricted to also...

Old Fuff,

Wish we lived near one another...We'd both go broke buying the guns we're interested in, only twice as fast.

These two Bisley's are the only ones I've ever seen in the Euro configuration. Nonsensical guns to be sure, but built to very high standards. Neither was fired and were still full of packin' grease. I did a thorough dissesmbly, clean, and tune...They are really quite something.

As you know, I'm a bit of a BP fanatic, so the core reason for Uberti building the design doesn't bother me. I was interested in the guns and not the back story.

Bet I'm the first kid on the block with a pair of these! LOL

Please pack them in a stout box and send them to me in the UK!! :)

(only kidding.....)

I cannot find these in the UK, although they were undoubtedly intended for our market. I'd settle for a standard '73 in this format, but have not seen one for sale in ages - I guess the BWSS (British Western Shooting Society) guys snap them up when one appears......

IIRC ASM also did one, but I wouldn't consider for the metallurgical reasons often quoted here.
