Black Friday 2021: what did you buy?

I don't know where you are, but there is plenty of 22wmr around here. CCI, Armscor, and Win. If you lived close enough to meet I'd pick some up for you or swap out something.

Stuck in Iowa, most stores don’t bother to carry it ‘round here. Nearly everything else is on the shelves minus reloading components, though I’m still fairly well stocked there.

I bought it earlier, but it was delivered on Black Friday: the Lee ram swage kit. Using it on lake city brass I'm turning into 300 hamr. It's great. Way better than trying to hand ream the pockets with the Lee chamfer tool

I've added a new computer monitor to my cart twice, but cannot make myself pull the trigger yet.

If you wait till tomorrow they will probably be on sale (cyber Monday)

I don't really consider it a black Friday deal, but I did pick up some more Imr 4166, Autocomp, 150gr Interlocks, and some 6mm Scenars for my niece's .243.

I picked up a 1993 Marlin 25N adult sized carbine discounted for Black Friday. Thoughts were to take it on as a project gun.

All the metal but the trigger guard appears to be parkerized steel or bead blasted blued steel. The trigger guard looks like painted aluminum alloy. Speaking of the trigger, it's a tad heavy but is very crisp.

This carbine appears to have been hardly fired. The wood has scratches a plenty, but the metal is nearly pristine. Of course, the mix and match magazine in stainless stands out a bit.

Honestly nothing. Corporate capitalism ain’t my thing. Plus a lot of the “deals” aren’t actually deals at all, they’re often just under normal price or on regular sale.

I was fortunate to get 1000 rounds of Aguila .22 at 14.95 per box of 250, 2 boxes of 9mm for about the same, and 5 boxes of Wolf 223 for 9.99 each. I also picked up some different 224 bullets for reloading at normal prices. I thought it was overall a pretty good deal.

I really hope things become more available in the future. I am going to seriously stick up on primers the next low in the cycle.

Broke down today and went to Field & Stream for 20% off a knife. My step-daughter was telling me the story behind her wobbly knife as we tried in vain to tighten the stripped out screw. Long story short, she’ll have a nice knife on Christmas morning.

An LGS had some really tempting mark-down percentages, from their usual asking prices, on some beautiful firearms, but I kept reminding myself that my 60th birthday self-gift,a Les Baer 1911, which had happened recently, really should remain my final firearm purchase, of 2021, and, my last outright firearm purchase for the foreseeable future. (IOW, future significant purchases should involve trades.)

I did check for availably of primers, and some specific ammo, but no luck, there.

Edited to add: I did buy a pre-owned, take-off GP100 grip, through the evil bay, on Thursday, the day before Black Friday. The original-pattern, OEM one-piece rubber is the absolute best, for my hands. The Hogues are a terrible fit, for my hands, and the Altamonts, which seem to be the other current vendor for GP100 grips, are not quite right. So, now and then, I check the evil bay, for the original one-piece GP100 grips.

Saw a 10.5" PSA Nitride Upper for $199. I wanted to buy it and had to talk myself out of it because I already have 4 more AR's than I need but I was thinking I could either buy it and save it for my brother or give somebody a decent deal and cover my shipping, etc... or I could just hang onto it and maybe make a tidy profit in the future. I had all kinds of excuses to buy it but the one thing I couldn't argue with was the fact that it's that rough time of year and I have no immediate need or much of any extra $$$ floating around but if I did or was one of those guys who enjoys a nice fat holiday bonus every year I'd have 3 of them on their way at that price...

But for anybody looking for an AR upper those PSA Nitride uppers are excellent entry level setups. If you are ever wanting to buy an AR, $199 for an upper is about as good as it will ever get.

New Grips and Magwell and Trigger for my Fusion 1911 from Fusion @ 15% off.
Now I am debating on a Tract Tekoa 4-16x44 Scope. Decisions...Decisions.
Went to a gunshow this morning and nothing there really tempted me. Except two Remington Model 8's. One in .30 Rem and the other in .32 Rem.

I know the feeling! Got parts coming tomorrow from MCarbo, ordered a day before their 15% off sale happened. I was shopping for things I didn’t need like my 6 was on fire.

I like them, too. I put the compact GP grips on my .44 Spl 3” and they are worlds better for me than the original factory Hogues were.

Stay safe.
