Can I mail a black powder revolver directly to a resident in Michigan? I thought the law changed in 2003.

Black powder rifles are not treated as firearms. Hand guns... I've never gotten clarification of that myself. Cabela's and other online retailers will not ship them directly to your home, but you can buy a BP revolver or whatever from their brick and mortar store without any sort of permits, licenses or other draconian state-issued papers.

I do know that black powder handguns do not need to be registered, although they can be (or could be) if you wanted to carry one concealed.

As far as mailing one in-state to another resident... I do not know. I'd like to find out myself.

Yes you can. Cabelas is just being too scared.

That's what I thought that the law changed after Michigan got rid of that crack pot of a Governor. I knew I read it here that it was legal and was surprised that Michigan (MI) was still being listed on the Cabelas web-site as being restricted.

Thanks Gentlemen. :)

As for laws and regualtions, I have alway thought it best to go to the people who create and govern them. For this you could also go to companies who sell them.

Looks like Cabelas will ship to MI, though it is different for MI.
