And I've read the same thing concerning PRBs from the .50 cal out at 100-125 yds giving complete passthroughs on deer. At that range the velocity/energy levels are that of a .44 revolver ball near the muzzle. Sure it's slightly smaller/lighter but it's not overly significant, and so if a passthrough (I've read of a few) isn't likely the ball found on the offside ought to be when using more energetic powders.
