On the advice of many over on r/guns and r/CCW, I recently purchased a Protos-M Dual-Clip IWB holster from BlackArch Holsters. I purchased this for my new(to me) M&P 9 Pro Series. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about concealed carrying a full sized pistol, as I am a little guy at 5'6" and about 155lbs. With the exception of a colt commander I tried to conceal carry for a couple months when I first got my CCL, most everything I carry concealed is subcompact or compact. Well, my holster arrived yesterday and I have to say, I am very impressed. I opted for the DCC Mod4 clips, they have a little tab at the end that was a bit difficult to get over the end of my crossbreed belt, but once I did, it latches on very firm, theres no way this holster would pull of the belt with these clips. Retention was very solid, I actually had to loosen a bit so that I could easily draw. The shell portion of the holster completely covers the trigger, from both the front and the back. the mesh backing breathes very well, much more comfortable compared to any of my other IWBs. I know many people say this, but I seriously could forget the gun is there if it wasnt for the fact I never leave the house without one.

This holster was a bit on the pricey side of things, I paid a little extra to customize my holster, I ended up paying $120 for the holster, but I believe its $99 if you just get one of their standard options. My only complaint is that they didnt have as many color options for their mag carriers, so I was not able to match the color of my holster, but I just got black so its not a big deal at all. The holster is swappable to different backings as well, I know they have an single clip IWB and a OWB backing for this holster, though I will likely never use either, as I'm not a fan of appendix carry and I don't like to carry anything OWB unless it has positive retention.

To sum it up, if anyone is looking for a quality made IWB holster, and don't mind spending a little more than the competition, check out BlackArch Holsters' Protos-M. I've tried MANY different IWB holsters over the last 12 years or so, this is easily my favorite yet.

I'll take pictures of the holster and upload when I get home this evening, I don't feel like removing my holster at work.

I've been using a Black Arch Protos M for my Sig P938 for a few years now. They are nice holsters.

Yeah, I’m very pleased. I was on the fence about concealing a full sized pistol, as I’m only 5’6” and 155 lbs, but this holster makes it easy as can be.

The right holster makes all the difference. I am 5'9" and 145 lbs and can easily conceal a full size 1911 with the proper holster.
