I just purchased a 50th Anniversary .44 Magnum New Model Blackhawk. I am going to use this as my sidearm on my elk, deer & grouse (bear) hunts. Anyone have experience using one of these as a hunting weapon. Thnks for the input in advance.
Not sure of the barrel length of yours but I have the 5.5" Blackhawk 44mag. Works great on hogs and I expect to try a white tail this year. All depends on bullet placement but within range, this one should work fine for you.
I'll be using the 7 1/2" model this year for deer and bear. I've been knocking cigar boxes over at 75 yds pretty consistently. Mine shoots like a dream, hopefully yours does too!
