Blackie Collins Toters Pistol-Packing Jeans, any good? $75 is way more than I've ever paid for jeans so I'd like to know how well the built in holsters really work.

Can someone one post a close up photo if the holster pocket arrangement and its "patent-pending" lacing system?

Ummmmmmmm............
Well, I just got 2 pairs and don't have a lot of experience with them yet.
They are well made.
The concept of no holster scares me, so I tried holsters. I don't think the gun would go off in a pocket, but I don't plan to find out.
I didn't find that the cordura helped conceal the outlines of the guns better than regular jeans (maybe because of the holster).
The Glock 26 showed badly due to thickness and width in a Mitch Rosen pocket holster.
Kahrs micros are Ok, but haven't been reliable for me lately.
Jframes are OK, but looking for more power in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area lately.
Going to try the SP101 when I can get it back from the wife. Small revolvers are more "vertical" in a pocket holster than the baby Glocks, and these pockets are not quite wide enough for Glocks (designed for no holster).
Also have a holster for a Kahr K9 on order that may do better than the Glock with more reliability than the micro guns.
Didn't understand the lace up pockets at all and removed the lace. Just looked like a double front pocket on each side, one of which can be laced closed.
Having said all that, I think the guy has cornered the market if you like jeans and gets $85 (shipped) because nobody else makes a quality jean with a sturdy, deep pocket. I also like the knife pockets. The knife doesn't interfere with accessing the pocket for other junk. You can probably do just as well for less money in a cargo pant (maybe 5.11??) if the pockets are sturdy. I just like jeans.

A new way to seperate you from you money People have been carrying guns in pockets and else where for how many years. NOW we need special pants. Wall Mart has always worked for my carry jeans.
But buy them because no one will know if you carring in your special gun jeans or under that vest your wearing. Well maybe could be in that fanny pack.

How about designer carry socks.
Get rid of those nasty ankle holsters :D

Thanks, saved me $75+. IWB holster and an untucked shirt has worked well up to now, guess I'll stay with it.

We don't need anything that doesn't solve a problem.
My wife regularly sews up my Walmart jean pockets from keys poking holes in the pockets.
If IWB works best for you, great. But I prefer to go without the vest when I can (it's hot down here), the untucked shirt sometimes flashes the gun unless it is very long, and I think the pocket carry has advantages:
1. If I am in a bad situation, I can put my hand on my weapon in public, and nobody is the wiser because my hand is in my pocket.
2. If I don't see the attack coming, I'll be happy to give you my wallet. It's right here in my pocket............
I agree, he is getting too much for the jeans. However, you could probably get by with an old police trade-in Model 10 .38, but I bet you aren't. And I bet the cost difference between the Sig/Glock/whatever you are carrying and that Mod 10 is more than the difference in the Toters and Wally jeans. If the jeans help me just a little bit, I'll pay, and will probably recoup most of the cost if they last twice as long as cheap ones.

OK, I feel like the idiot.....I found the instructions on the back of the shipping receipt/bill.
The way he wants the holster to work is for the gun to ride on the pocket, not in it, with the grip catching the edge of the pocket so it doesn't fall down into the pocket.
As a way of primary carry, I'm not impressed. It defeats the advantages mentioned above about pocket carry, and it isn't nearly as secure as a real holster.
However, it makes me like the pants even more because I live in a "vehicle carry" state. So now us mouse gunners can, when needed, grab the big gun out of the truck console, stick it in the gun pocket (no holster), pull the shirt out of the pants, and walk down the street without having to undo the belt or use a paddle holster.
Not a big thing, but could be useful.

The concept of no holster scares me

Why should that scare you? It's called, for better or for worse, "Mexican Carry", and I do it all the time! Heck, Massad Ayoob (lol, for better or for worse) himself has mentioned that he carries thusly from time to time. My pistol rides quite snugly inside my waistband, and in the couple of years I have carried, I have yet to have a problem with retention. I also am not particularly worried about it going off, as A: I am not sure how that would happen and B: when I carry my auto that way, the safety is on. Are there better ways to carry? Sure, but I am a very large man, and this method seems to be the best all around way for me to carry that I have found. That said, lately I have been using a Uncle Mikes inside the waistband holster, but thats mostly just to keep from sweating all over the gun as opposed to any additional retention or safety issues. Thats an interesting holster, in that its basically just a "slipper" for lack of a better definition, and they cost all of 10 bucks...

I used to carry "Mexican carry" too. Heard too many cases of people with AD's. Not sure if it was an AD due to the carry being insecure, or AD due to the finger on the trigger, but I try not to use it anymore. As you can see from the above post, I would use it in an emergency.
"not sure how" it would go off????? Oh, any thing catches on the trigger, for any reason, at any time, any place, under any circumstances. Probably won't happen.......probably. I carried a Glock 19 in a back jeans pocket for a couple of years, but I could visualize sitting or shifting position on a non-flat surface, and some doctor digging a JHP out of my butt. Of course it doesn't have a safety, if you trust safeties.
The Barami hip grip is a version of Mexican carry, and I don't know of any accidents with it, but I just like holsters for handguns.
Do whatever suits you. :D

Man, not to sound confrontational, but with my carry pistol, which has a very heavy DA pull to begin with, tucked tight against my leg and jeans, something would literally have to gore into me, then push up in such a way as to not simply move the pistol out of my waistband, and then somehow get my jeans out of the way of the hammer to fire. I actually unloaded my pistol last night and carried it in my waist as I normally do, only this time I intentionally tried to get the thing to fire, going so far as to grasp the gun and try to pull the trigger through my jeans. I could not do it, despite trying for about 15 minutes. Now, AD's do happen, but they happen from holstered guns too. I am not saying your wrong for your caution so much so as I am saying that mexican carry is no less safe than holstered carry, provided that you follow some basic safety procedures, most notable, finger off the trigger until your about to fire.

Sounds like you've checked it out well for your gun/situation.
Since you are going to do it anyway, the toter jeans might be perfect for you, if a little pricey.
I was just a little more nervous with a 5# Glock trigger and no manual safety.
Nobody is taking this personal - just good debate/discussion.

I have a pair of "Toters", absolutely love them. Wear mine w/ a Wilderness 5 stitch 1 1/2" belt (best belt out there IMO). Follow the instructions that come w/ the jeans. Use the lace to narrow up the pocket opening to allow only the muzzle and trigger guard to fall into the special pocket. The grip will ride on the top edge of the pocket. I've never had the gun fall out or get loose, this includes getting into and out of a car multiple times. It always seems to stay in place w/o any type of retention strap, although I suppose you could add a velcro strap for a little more security.

My usual CCW is a Kahr MK9 which just disappears--nothing prints thru the pocket. I have carried a J frame this way too. The jeans hold the piece closer than an OWB holster, but the gun doesn't dig into me at all like can be the case when carried IWB. It is so comfortable FOR ME that it is hard to tell that the gun is there (I have a medium build). I find myself tapping the grip w/ my elbow thru the cover garment to be sure it's still there. To be honest, I have not carried anything bigger/heavier than the guns I've mentioned.
