Have a friend who has an 1851, 1860 and a 3rd Model Dragoon all in the Colt Black boxes, unfired. He calls them 2nd generation. Let's don't get the old argument started whether they are colts, 2nd gen or whatever. He is going to sell them and is going to give me prices for each and a price for all. I'll post them in the appropriate section when I get the info if there is any interest. If not, I'll tell him to list 'em on GB. Just wanted to give you guys first shot. May the Good Lord keep me thinking that I don't need 'em!

There is no argument, the matter is settles, the Black Powder Series 2nd Generation Colts are genuine Colts and can be lettered. Great guns, well, most of them are. I had a lemon once that needed a bit of work to get it to shoot. After that it was a joy.

Thanks for the heads up! I have a Colt Model 1860 3rd Gen. and I don't really care what anybody else wants to call it; I just know it's mine and I'm just happy I have it!

Granted across the board the seven or eight 2nd and 3rd generation Colts I have had isn't a very big sample but everyone I have owned is tight as a drum. When the cylinder bolt engages there is no play in that cylinder, no forward or back, not side to side, unlike the repros.

Great revolvers. Good luck on the sale.
