Blaser Rifle Misfire....

A dent can be too shallow or too slow to detonate the primer, even though it leaves a visible dent.

Have you tried different ammo?

Other than that I think it's due for a trip back to the manufacturer. You paid for the warranty, use it until you're happy. I've had to send some guns back multiple times until they worked 100%.

... I have no way to measure the depth of the strike...
IMO, those indents are plenty deep enough to ignite the primer. There must be some other problem with the rifle. Don't give up on it. You spent enough money on it. Take it to a good gunsmith if you're not confident in Blaser warranty service. But, they should fix it for you.

...it had a dent like I posted or no dent, scratch etc...on 17-20 other cartridges...yes, they are the round for the rifle....I have had Gunsmiths build rifles for me, and I have used model 70 actions and had no problems...I am a Journey Machinist by trade, but have not practiced that profession in many years, but not a gunsmith...I currentl use a "built" 257 Weatherby caliber rifle to hunt with, model 70 ,Hart Matchgrade barrel with Boss that cuts paper @ 300 yds.....but I have always been intrigued by the Blaser....So, I'm still in the "hunt" literally....LOL!...at this time I am very disappointed....I will keep you posted on the outcome, and what Blaser has for the fix...thanks folks, this is a great site...

As was previously stated, I suspect the bolt isn't fully in battery when you pull the trigger. It won't fire if it is out of battery. Work the action with authority, don't baby it.

just spoke to the rep for Blaser, and he suggested trying new ammo (Brand) and if persist, I should send rifle back to Blaser for their inspection and fix, thanks all for your input.

....OK the mystery is solved!....Using Hornaday Ammo, it shot (fired) 10 rnds with no problems...The Nosler will not feed the rifle...I think the head space is the problem....I have some cheap Nosler 6.5 Creedmore for sale...

Send the ammo to Nosler and suggest that they have some quality control issues. It is likely that you are not alone. The Nosler customer service number is 1-800-285-3701 x1046. They have recalled some 30-06 and replaced it at no charge. They may do something for you.

Jeez.

I guess these rounds were so messed up that they wouldn’t “headspace on the extractor?”

I have no idea, I am not a reloader....I do like quality ammo with in series(numbers) Weatherby has real good ammo, and have never had any misfires are any other problems...but I also only pull the trigger on wild game...
