I've fired a few of those Rossi K-frame-size 357 magnum revolvers here lately. I like them. I fired a 4-inch blued one tonight and I really liked it. I know, I know, piece of junk! But ... I liked it! I have S&W 64-4 2", 19-3 2.5" and 66-2 3" and love them all. But ... that Rossi was kind of cool. Am I crazy?

Rossi makes a good revolver they just don't usually last as long as S&W and Ruger revolvers. Maybe now that Taurus owns them the quality control will improve and you will see sales go up.
I hope so. I mean, again, the gun was not a S&W and I don't mean to imply that it was. But it was still a nice gun and there are not a lot of ways to get a traditional, 6-shot 357 Magnum with firing pin on hammer in the K Frame size NIB these days. If they would make that Rossi in a 2.5 or 3-inch version I would buy it on sight and take my chances because that would make an ideal carry piece -- I could stop risking my beloved Smiths on a daily basis!

I don't see why the rossi stuff is too bad. Not the quality of a Smith, but the right amount of Bang for the Buck.
I would personally save the cash and get a Smith, but if I wanted a nice beater gun, the rossi would do it.

If you really like the Rossi buy one. If you are very worried about the quality and still want to buy a shooter that you don't have to worry about a Taurus might be just what you are looking for. The Taurus is a higher quality than the Rossi but no where near as expensive as the S&W. It might be the perfect compromise. IMO a nice gun is a nice gun, no matter whose name is on the barrel. I don't own any Rossi revolvers, but I have one of their low-cost shotguns. It has never failed me yet.

Just a heads up, Taurus made some changes when they bought Rossi. If it's an old Interarms imported Rossi parts are no longer available thru normal channels. If it's a newer Taurus imported Rossi parts will be far easier to get.
Personally though, especially sense you already have three S&W K magnums and don't immediately need a weapon for defense, I'd hold off. I'd be patient and search for a good price on a used S&W or Ruger if it was my money being spent. The other side of the coin however is that you already have the three good S&Ws so the Rossi is a gun you enjoy which can be added to your collection for a lesser sum. Those are the two processes I'd think on and try to balance in considering the Rossi.

Good thoughts, all. The Rossi I saw last night was one of the newer Taurus guns. It had the Taurus hammer lock and had a really Tauruslike look too it. Finish was quite good. DA trigger was not very good but not horrid. Accuracy was quite good. Like I said, of they made it in anything shorter than 4 inch I will buy one without doubt.
