I got this photo from the sister (Marylou Watkins)of the man in the photo. I dont know what year this photo wus taken and Marylou didnt remember what year it wus taken (mid 1920's or 30's??). It wus took here on my farm in north Ga. The Watkins family owned the farm before me. She said Billy use to ride his motorcycle around the corn & cotton fields and shoot rabbits and looks like he wus prudy good at it. His cycle is stuck in the mud but his got a mess of rabbits in his hand! Looks like a millitary rifle his carrying. Thought ya'll might like to see this.

Thats neat. I remember going with my Dad shooting jackrabbits a looong time ago. I dont remember it but he said he used to shoot a pickup bed full and sell them.

Growing up in Idaho we used to go out and spot light Jackrabbits between me and a buddy we could and did shoot a brik of 22 just about every night we went out I cant count the number of rabbits we shot. At that time they were as distrutive as the pig problem now.

flipajig, there use to be a bunch of rabbits around here but in the past 15 years or so they are not near as many. I guess all the hawk's, bobcats, yotes and fox's have took a toll on them.

That looks like Flintstone or High Point with the mountain behind it. Walker County?

If you can't appreciate the story being told in this photo, then your probally not american. Thankyou for sharing this with us Mtn.man that's cool like Fonzy. There used to be rabbits all over down here too, but I think your right the Yotes sure kill their share down here in Banks,& Jackson too. I can remember rabbit hunting with my Grandaddy when I was only 8 or 10 years old, he used to have some hellafied rabbit dogs. Anyway pm me some time, afterall we are neighbors.

'Bout 44 years ago, seems odd it was that long ago, my buddy and I'd go about 75 miles NE of here, to Bijou Creek, and shoot J-rabbits all day long! We'd go to Kmart and but up several boxes of shotgun shells, and a couple bricks of .22's, and just waylay those rabbits for 3 or 4 miles out there. We'd put the windshield of his jeep down, one of us would sit on the hood, and drive the banks of the creek puttin' the slam down on 'em! It was nothing in a day to get 45 to 50 of those rangy suckers, we actually got to be pretty good shots with the .22's.

That guy with the motorcycle looks like he means business too.
