A blind man reportedly shoots at two men trying to rob him Tuesday night.

Police said a blind man who lives at the St. Clements Manor in Inkster, an apartment complex for the disabled, opened fire on two men who were trying to assault and rob him. One of the suspects was shot in the chest, Local 4 reported.

The two suspected robbers then jumped through the apartment window, the station learned.

The wounded suspect was listed in critical condition at the University of Michigan Hospital. The second man was taken into custody.

The blind man was being questioned by police.

:what:  :what:

i wonder?

if medically blind (no sight whatsoever)
or legally blind (severe sight limitations)

Blind or legally blind? Anyway, kudos to this guy who made society safer for the rest of us.

Naturally Good-Pointing Pistol?

This reminds me of the time a friend let me shoot his Navy Six (Colt .36 1851) replica. I used the "sights" (notch on hammer and itty bitty front fin) for the first three shots, which were not even anywhere near the paper. At friend's suggestion I started at "raise pistol" and came down on the target for the next three while just sorta lookin in the right direction, i.e. shotgun-like, and got two out of three in the black!

Like this...

"Where did you lean to shoot like that? Can you teach a course for our Department?"
