Bloodshed On the Border (Juarez & El Paso)

I live 10 miles from the AZ/Old Mex border.

I don't think we are in imminent danger from thugs like MS13. I do think the drug runners and the like should be dealt with on the Old Mex side of the fence, preferably with a long rope.

Tac,can you elighten us as to what they're trying to get across? Is the legitimate Mexican military reduced to useing dollar store noodles for MRE's?

I have no idea what it's like in the Mexican military, and there is very little information out there besides knowing someone who is currently active duty down there. However, I doubt that Mexican servicemembers are eating instant noodles, as their military is well-funded.

But I believe the point is bigger than noodles. The opportunity to make big bucks by working for Los Zetas is tempting for many people, considering the misdistribution of wealth in Mexico which leaves many in poverty. That's why people are looking for work, to support their families, and drug money is much more tempting that the mediocre wages offered by the typical pedestrian job. Drug money pays big.

It's still the government's JOB to do that. If they're not doing their job, we should be holding them accountable.

Don't hold your breath. It's been this way for decades. Republicans or Democrats, it doesn't matter.

I made the statement that the gangs have the law on their side and that very true.

The gangs are no joke. We all know that but the problem is when dealing with these type of people the law is against the average citizen that would protect themselves. The law only protects you when you are on defense. These people need to be dealt with on the offense.

I ran into a person awhile back and he told me a story that will make you think. He was a witness to a situation that involve one of the mentioned gangs. He legally carries and the situation would have been a justified shoot but he knew who they were and knew that this gang would have looked for revenge. He has children.

I have been too the Middle East. I know what a combat zone is and it isn't nice. Citizens in this country have NO idea what this country could turn into real fast. Our police force alone can't deal with it alone.

"Los Zetas group wants you, military or ex-military. We offer decent pay and benefits to your family. You will not suffer harsh treatment or hunger. We WON'T give you Maruchan noodles for lunch.....(the rest of the sign is obscured)."

Do you know when this was taken?

The way people are losing faith in politics and politicians (rightfully), I believe the situation will deteriorate quicker than many believe. It would be good for the gov. if it did, that way they have an excuse to enforce all kinds of new laws and restrictions. They will send in the regular army and say "it's for your own safety" and 85% of the people will heave a collective sigh of relief and get back to their X-Box's.

I find it interesting that El Paso has the second lowest crime rate in the US for a city its size. I mean for one it is next to Cd. Juarez and it also has a fairly high rate of poverty.

I have to add that many Nativists rail on Mexicans for supposedly bringing crime to cities but I would like to hear a reason from that camp while El Paso is so safe.

Glenn Beck has been reporting problems along the border for some time now. The main stream media has all but ignored it up to this point.

There are reports of people being beheaded.

Glenn even reported that our people (I can't remember if it was the Border patrol or another law enforcement agency) gave chase on some of the thugs and they were held up by the Mexican Army on our side of the border as the thugs escaped.

Here's a similar incident where they are firing on our Border Patrol.

Seems to me that our Government needs to get off their duff and start addressing this situation.

From the northern border...

Just an observation from living in a border town with British Columbia, a large percentage of crime here is drug related and latino driven. Most of the farming communities have mexican migrant workers. Legal and illegal. Most of them are just trying to live the American dream. Our gang issues aren't like what you have down south, but there is a presence. And nothing like well fortified militants across the border, but I tell ya, the Canadians woudn't be able to combat that. Heck, the border guards don't even have guns!

So, pretty soon none of you in Arizona will have any ammo to protect yourselves once the cartels decide to cross the border.

(Same sort of legislation exists here in WA)
