Now this is scary. Lets say you bought a gun from a dealer, and he was one of the dealers who agreed to a "special master" who will have unlimited access to your records. As a customer Id be p*ssed, and would take legal action! Whos the special master? Is it private industry? Is it bloomers men, who then will come knocking on your door and harass you?

What would u do if you found out your favorite gun shop was giving your info to bloomers Bootlickers? Why would anyone agree to terms with these CLOWNS!! If I was a gun dealer, Id tell them to F off and take their A$$ to court over Bloomers illegal tactics.

New York City's Gun Dealer Lawsuit

In May, 2006, New York City filed a lawsuit against 15 gun dealers in Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. The dealers named in the suit were caught on hidden cameras selling guns to undercover investigators who were simulating straw purchases.

Watch a video, in dial-up or broadband, of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg discussing straw purchases.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced in July that two gun dealers in Georgia agreed to a landmark settlement. In September, three dealers from Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia agreed to similar terms. A third of the gun dealers named in the suit have now settled out of court and agreed to unprecedented oversight of their firearms sales. The agreements call for the appointment of a Special Master who will have unlimited access to the dealers' records and the power to impose escalating fines for any new violations of federal, state, or local gun laws.

Thats what I said too when I read it.

It doesnt say who this "Special master" is though. I assume it is some independant auditor from Bloomers clown squad.

This sounds illegal to me. Giving access to a 3rd party.

Imagine if you bought a gun from a dealer and Bloomers bootlickers come to your house and start questioning you why you bought a 9mm 5 years ago and what are you using it for? Id tell them to get the **** out of my house.

Sad to say, but I'd have to stop patronizing those dealers. Bad enough that they caved, but to make that much personal information about me (my full name, SSN, date and place of birth, street and mailing addresses, etc.) available to unknown third parties greatly increases the likelihood of ID theft.

Yep. Plus with Bloomers tactics I wouldnt be suprised if they started going to customers houses and asking questions like if they have that firearm still, did they go alone to buy the firearm ect.

I love the terminology. It sounds like Bloomberg's caught in a bad 80's Marc Singer movie.

They didn't even bother to call the position something politically neutral, like "ombudsman" or "auditor". It shows how blatant they are in smearing gun dealers, and how much chutzpah they have from their cozy, east-coast sheep farms.

"Special Master" sounds like something you'd get at a frat house or a bordello....

SMACK!! "Thank you Special Master may I have another!!!?"

Somehow I think that's probably not far from the truth of what's happened here.

TexasSig you are most likely right. The "special master' prob tells the dealer how many guns he can order, only can order certain ones, no big bad evil rifles ect.

I am pretty sure it would be illegal for the Special Master to rummage through Federally required records.

Other records, who knows.

Anyway some dealers are fighting the Democrat turned Republican to ride Guiliani's coattails Bloomberg. :)

How does a gun owner going to know if a customer is buying a weapon for another person. The paperwork asks if you are making the purchase for someone else. If you say no how is the shop owner to know different.

Am I to understand that the mayor of New York is now influencing gun dealers in other states? Possibly to the extent of determining what they can and cannot stock?
Does this apply to the dealers sales to New York or to their own states as well?

The dealers named in the suit were caught on hidden cameras selling guns to undercover investigators who were simulating straw purchases
How do you simulate a straw purchase?
One person has to have a clean background to purchase the firearm; how on earth are the dealers supposed to know what the buyer plans to do?

Are these gun dealers supposed to have psychic powers? This is madness.
The dealer who sold the Canadian school shooter the Beretta carbine, should he be held responsible for what the weapon was used for?

"Special master" is a term of art in the legal field. It is usually a person, appointed by the court, who usually has experience or special skill in an area of law or science, to digest a large volume of data or specialized evidence and make a recommendation to the court. Special masters are often used in patent cases where the technology is beyond what a judge who majored in English Lit can learn in a few hours. They are supposed to be unbiased in selection. It is not some code word for super secret evil monster or frat title.

In this case, it is a delegation of authority from a judge for oversight that would take a huge amount of the judge's time. I'm not saying whether that is a good thing or a bad thing in general or in this case.

If I was a customer that once legally purchased something from one of those dealers and one of bloomberg's NYC jackasses starts harassing me in another state he'll have a new 'special' name.

"Reactive target"

So these goons are stepping on the toes of the ATF, Justice Dept, and Congress and our elected misrepresentatives are going to let them get away with it. Bloomberg couldn't get away with this kind of crap in his own cesspool of a city if he tried to encroach on the Mafia. Yet the US Fedgov is going let him walk.

I still dont understand how he could sue them. They were not law enforcement officers, and those gun dealers didnt inflict damage to him. I dont understand what grounds he had to sue.

Every state that has mayors on Bloomers gun campaign should be on the lookout. Stl Mayor Slay is on it. Be on the lookout for Bloomers henchmen cause they will be coming to a state near you soon.

Next we will prob see them in Dallas, Denver, St.Louis, Tampa.

See the pattern? They will start by forcing the big FFLs in the larger cites out of bizz, then work their way to smaller towns. Their goal is to shut all the gun dealers down by taking their money away by court cost.

Mayor Barrett from Milwaukee was one of those Mayors... :what:

Is this a violation of the interstate commerce clause somehow? This has to be illegal or maybe by those gun dealers agreeing to this it allows the BATFE proceed with an investigation against Bloomberg for strawbuying...oh please let that be the case.

Mayor Francis Slay is on the Mayors list too.

NO ONE IS going to come to my door and take my guns!!!:cuss:

From what is posted in the original thread, I don't see where the issue comes in. From the way I'm reading this, this 'Special Master' will have access to the dealers record, which I presume is for the purposes of verifying that a sale was legit and on the up and up. This would suggest to me that no one is going to come knocking on my door if the dealer screws up, someone will be at his door, probably with a nice little fine.

someone will be at his door, probably with a nice little fine

A nice little fine that bloomberg pulled out of his ass with his unenumerated powers to regulate interstate commerce.

When is that little tyrant going to get his ? I don't care any more, whether the ATF or justice department gets him or someone off the street decides to 'George Wallace' him when he tries to *snicker* run for president.

But according to the ATF they had nothing to do with bloomers.

I do have a problem with this. Bloomers clowns will go to purchasers houses and ask them questions about their gun purchase, and ask them if they have the gun in their possession.

Come to my house and get a door slammed against your face!
