Broken BLR receiver? Can this be fixed?

This is the subsequent post from my previous thread -> http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=730261

The bases are Weaver 2-piece steel #S25 bases -> http://www.midwayusa.com/product/314588/weaver-grand-slam-top-mount-scope-base-s25-matte
The rings are Warne Maxima rings -> http://www.midwayusa.com/product/91...anent-attachable-weaver-style-rings-matte-low

I took that scope and rings off to do the whole thing over from scratch. When I originally scoped this rifle I missed putting locktite on every screw and I didn't quite finish lapping the rings like I would have liked, so this time I wanted to get it all done right. I didn't intend to remove the two piece bases, just to snug them up but when I checked them, I notice that one or two of those screws were not at all completely tight.

I got an alignment kit and mounted those rods in the rings and remounted the rings, everything looked good. Then I set the rings back up with a lapping bar and began honing away. Everything went fine until the front Weaver base tore free of the receiver. The aluminum receiver has bushings pressed into it that the scope mount screws thread into and the screws broke the top bit of the bushings off from the two front mount holes. I'll see if I can manage to attach a couple pictures here. I don't know if this might have started from the shooting I've done with the rifle, from the little fall the rifle took, or from the lapping, or all of it.

I noticed that these Weaver bases come with very short screws. Only three threads extend below the mounts and I would bet that only one full thread is holding onto those bushings that are in the aluminum receiver. I have a picture of this too.

So here's where I'm at. I don't know if these bushings have to be replaced before I proceed. I don't know if I could do that either. I could get some longer screws for these bases so they purchase more of the bushings. I sort of hate these rings, two piece bases, and aluminum receivers. What would you guys do with this rifle at this point?

I would call Browning and let them know you are not happy and see what they say. This is just one reason that I am not a fan of alum.
