Blue Dot Substitute?

Why guess? Look at the data. Hodgdon has a start load of 7.3gr with a pressure of 31,700 cup for a common 158 gr XTP

That said you can use twice as much H110 get more velocity and LESS pressure as it is a tad faster burning than H110

Longshot is a LOUD powder much like Power Pistol is. It sounds potent
I was shooting 158 lead. 7 was PLENTY hot enough for me. Plenty of muzzle blast.

if i have a lot of regular pistol primers i use blue dot. if i have a lot of mag primers i use hs-6. this combo works best for me in hi-end 9mm loads, medium-high 44 mag loads, medium-high 357 mag loads and medium-high 45lc ruger-only loads.

for medium loads, i use w231. for light loads i use bullseye. for heavy loads i use h110.

this is generally speaking. i do use other powders, but these powders are used in 90 percent of my pistol reloading.
