I'd buy one, just to compare to American iron. 870, 250K rounds, 95% trap average 16 and cap.

Full disclosure: I ordered one last week when they were on sale for $250.

My understanding is that these were the rough counterpart to the 870 Express, with a similar price point. The exception is that the Chinese guns have no MIM parts (or at least that used to be the case), but all stamped or machined steel parts. Guess I'll find out when it gets here. Back then the Chinese apparently lacked MIM technology and had do things the old fashioned way. But, as I said, things may have changed over the years.

Interesting...... I'm not in the market for something like that but if so I'd get one just to try it and if I didn't like it I could probably sell it without too much of a loss. The initial information said nothing about the choke but that question got answered in the Q & A section, ( cylinder bore fixed choke). At that price point I wasn't getting my hopes up about screw-in chokes. With a cylinder bore it may make a decent slug gun.

That's what I was thinking too. For the money it could make for a decent truck gun, provided everything is up to spec. Also if it's not Chinese made maybe it's built in Turkey.

That looks nice especially for the price these days. If it's made by Hawk it should be a solid shotgun. I have a H&R Pardner thats made my them but with a square back receiver. It,s about as smooth as my mid 70s Wingmaster. Much better that the Express models I compared it to. A little heavier but the barrel is thicker and the butt stock is solid. As mentioned all machined. No MIM. If I hadn't picked up a Maverick 18" last fall I would get one of these.

What bannockburn said...... That has possibilities as a truck gun or other general use. I'd give it a try if I were in the market for something like that.

Picked it up from my FFL today. As advertised - a basic 870 copy. Does seem a bit heavier than an 870 Express. My earlier suspicions were confirmed, as the receiver is marked "Made In China Hawk Industries Co. Ltd." I added the Blue Force Gear hunting sling.

According to Brownell's, it's compatible with standard 870 stocks and trigger groups but not barrels.

Remington imported this shotgun and sold it as the H&R Pardner Pump. When Remington was split up Rounder Hill bought the Remington brand and JJE (also known as Palmetto State Armory) purchased the H&R name. Neither company wanted to keep importing these Chinese shotguns so it looks like Hawk found a new US importer.

Looks good. It won,t take Rem barrels because the mag tube is 1 round longer. IIRC it,s a 6+1.
Remington barrels will work if you use a small sleeve that fits over the longer mag tube and bridges the gap between the barrel ring and mag end cap. There was a guy selling nice metal ones but I have also seen posts were they cut a small piece of PVC tube and spray painted it black.
