Blues-be-Gone compliments of Bersa Thunder 9 UC Pro.

I called The Evil Pawn Shop Guy yesterday afternoon,,,
He confirmed my blues-breaker had arrived.

This is what was waiting for me,,,
Along with an extra 13 round magazine.

140724-UC9-09-Boxed-LR.jpg

It came with the fired shell casing and the usual paper stuff,,,
What surprised me was that it came with two mags,,,
Everything I read indicated it only came with one.

It accommodates 13 round mags which I now have three of,,,
Or 10 round mags which I intend to buy two of,,,
Just in case I travel to a 10 round state.

The action is DA/SA with a safety/de-cocker,,,
When the hammer is back, pushing the safety lever up de-cocks the pistol,,,
When the hammer is down, pushing the safety lever up disengages the trigger mechanism.

Pretty much a typical DA/SA with a decocker.

It's made with an alloy frame with steel slide,,,
Even then the pistol is still pretty beefy,,,
It does have a fat double-stack grip.

For size comparison, here it is beside my full size CZ-75B.

And here it is beside my Ruger LC9.

This pistol, like my Bersa T-22 and T-380,,,
Brakes down for cleaning very easily,,,
Rotate one lever and it slides apart.

She (I haven't named her yet) was swimming in oil,,,
I took it apart and cleaned the factory crud out,,,
Re-oiled it and am ready to shoot after work.

Oh yeah,,,
$436.05 out the door,,,
That's with tax and the 3rd magazine.

If I would have went with the all black model,,,
It would have been $40.00 less.

So far, I'm one happy camper.

The first trip to the range I suffered from CHS,,,
100 rounds with no failures but dismal accuracy.

A few days later I ran 150 rounds of FMJ,,,
Again no failures and the CHS seemed to have eased up a bit.

Nice looking Bersa you've got there. Better to have reliability right out of the box rather than constant teething problems with a new gun. I'm sure the accuracy will come around once you get settled in with your new gun and try some different ammo through it.

Hello bannockburn,,,

I'm sure the accuracy will come around once you get settled in with your new gun and try some different ammo through it.

I'm sure I will get better with it,,,
But I seriously doubt it's an ammo problem.

Being a double-stack design,,,
The gun does have a fairly fat grip,,,
I have small hands and think that's the cause.

I got used to the fat grip with my CZ-75B,,,
It'll just take a few more sessions to get used to this one.

Overall I'm liking this new gun a lot,,,
The function of a DA/SA with de-cocker suits me very well.

If someone is in the market for a medium capacity 9mm,,,
I would recommend they take a look at this Bersa.

Nice looking pistol. I think Bersa makes some good pistols. I really like my Bersa T-380 with the green finger mold grips. It is 8+1, and shoots dead center at 15 yards all day with 90 grain +P @ 1200 fps from the 3.5" barrel. That is if I can keep my shaky hands still.

A good friend recently passed away from cancer and left me three guns; FNH SLP shotgun, Carbon 15, and a NIB Bersa Thunder 9 UC Pro. I have never held a Bersa of any kind, but this gun feels pretty good in my hand. The trigger is smooth in DA mode too, which makes me wonder why the big name manufacturers can't always figure it out.

This one came with two 13 round magazines but it looks like the key got lost somewhere- which is OK since the gun is unlocked. I haven't shot it yet since I really don't want to change its NIB status, and I don't carry 9mm much anyway. I may save it for when the kid moves out of NY and resides in a more gun friendly state and just give it to him.

Hello Mainsail,,,

Nice handgun obtained under bad circumstances,,,
I own two like that

Just in case you want a new key,,,

Check the box again though,,,
My key was taped to the underside of one of the cardboard dividers.

This one came in a hard-shell plastic case with the Bersa name on it. I've checked around the foam and the key isn't there.

Thanks though!
