For those of you who don`t know who he is, he`s a retired NYPD detective who now has his own security firm in NYC. He`s also a regular on the Imus show.

Talking about the elevated terror risk level, he said to get a pistol permit and carry.

Of course, on NYC it`s impossible but that`s not his fault. At the time they were discussing what could happen in middle America. He made the point that small towns are good targets for terrorism since most gummint attention is on the bigger populations.

Since I don`t watch CNN I wonder if they seek out his advice? :p

Fox news rules..

I wish I saw it.But is doesn't surprise me,Fox is the ONLY national news we watch...and Fox and Friends in the morning is awesome!:)

The only thing I can't get past is Imus himself.
More than a few seconds view and I have overdosed on liberals.

I'm not sure, but doesn't Imus himself openly "pack heat"?:fire:

If so, what type of firearm does he carry?

Yes, supposedly he has a 38 snubby on him.
But, none the less, he is an elite liberal and puts himself on the pedestal of "Its OK for me to have a gun but, not you".
That is the exact impression I have from this man.

I think it`s a Glock now. Upgraded terrorist threat you know.;) He seems to run more towards registration than gun banning. The reasonable restrictions route.

Unfortunately, regarless of his message, i shut Imus off as soon as I see or hear him. He annoys me. And thats all I have to say on that...!

And he seems to have the largest crew of kiss a**es that ever walked the planet working for him.

No, Jim V, the guy I work for has more. I saw a picture of Imus with a .357 Revolver, but it was just to hype his ratings. He's a lib through and through. Fox news is the only TV news I watch, mostly I get my info from the radio.

If you watch Imus, you can occasionally see a revolver on his hip (camera angles arent always the greatest) while he is in the studio.

Fox News rocks but Bo Dietl stinks.

Bo must still think that most of NYC (all of the Bronx and most of Brooklyn) still don't receive the Fox News Channel (until the end of 2002, they didn't)

Dietl is one of these stereotypical "Guns for me; not for thee" - types. As a retired cop (NYPD) in good standing he is given a pistol license that is unrestricted and free (as in he does not pay $255/3 years like the working folks in the city).

He even came out in defense of Captain Petrofsky when he was lambasted in the local media (Capt. P was the captain who traveled to the Aerosmtih concert to fingerprint them and issue their unrestricted licenses)

Pardon me if I think Dietl should pucker up and kiss my butt. He could do a world of good and help reform the pistol license system in New York. Instead he gets on TV and tells people to do the one thing that most of them can't do in the city where the show is broadcast from. Pathetic, if you ask me.
