Bolt Action With AR Mag

Hello!,
I saw an advertisement for the Mossberg MVP earlier, and the thought of a bolt action with an AR-15 mag has got me curious.. How is the quality of the Mossberg rifles compared to a Savage which I am very familiar with.
Also, does anyone make a floor plate for a Savage short action that would accept an AR Mag? I have been planning this years winter project around building a custom heavy barreled Savage Model 10, in .223 for varmint/ long range target work, and one of those 10 to 20 round AR mags would be pretty nice!
Any Help would be appreciated!

There are several companies making floor plates that use the AIC mags for the Savage but none that use an AR mag. I have one of the Mossbergs on back order, not sure when it will show up. I have played with one equipped with the Mossberg version of the Accu-Trigger and it felt just like a Savage.

I have seen those floor plates, but with them going for 200+, and Mags just north of 60 bucks, that's priced a quite abit more than my desire for a magfed savage! :banghead:. I also dont believe that they would work for my applications, seeing as they are for 308 sized cartriges, not 223, which is really what im wanting to build. I am interested in how your new MVP shoots when ya get it!
