Bolt action with iron sights

I am looking to build a hunting rilfe for black bear in the Northeast. I would like it to be a bolt action. My only problem is that I kind of have a personal preference that all of my firearms must have iron sights in addition to any scope I put on it. What options out there do I have for bolt action rifles that have iron sights.

The only ones I know of are Tikka and Ruger. I have not seen any store within 100 miles of me that carries Tikka and the Ruger is in a caliber I am not famliar with.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My Rem. 700BDL in .308win has iron sights on it... and a scope.

Just about everyone that makes bolt-action rifles make at least one model with sights.

Remington BDL
Savage Euro Classic
CZ 550
Mossberg 4x4 and 100 ATR
Etc, etc.

Savage Model 11G... that's in their Hunter Series. Those have irons. They chamber it in .308 and some other calibers. It's a good accurate rifle that won't break the bank.

remmy does, so does some wetherby, so do some savage, and a few others; but more remmys come with factory iron sights, and the rear site being fully adjustable.

and when I reference sites, i am deff talking about a fully adjustable rear site.

Unfortunately most factory iron sights are pretty pathetic when compared to older sights and military sights.

I'd recommend some nice williams sights added onto the rifle you decide on.

Your best bet may be to buy used. Most of the manufacturers do offer iron sights but usually on their dangerous game rifles. I cannot remember when I last saw a new Ruger with iron sights.

A smith can put good irons on just about any rifle you wish.

CZ offers several rifles with iron sights. Plus, NECG has recently started offering a ghost ring rear sight and replacement front sight inserts for CZ rifles!

A k31 set up would work for hunting. Guys all over have used the k31 with great success. Scoped or open sights, its accurate.

smiley, try hoffman's on the newington/berlin line. they carry tikka,ruger, remington, etc. and have many rifles to choose from, they can also order you just about anything you want.
