I was unaware that Ruger redesigned the 77. It has the CRF and dual opposing lugs with the claw extractor?

AFIK it always has. Are you sure you're not thinking of the rimfire hornet/44 sized mini77 action.

Ruger 77 has has been CRF for years.

The original 77's had the claw extractor, but did not grab and hold the cartridge for true CRF. They also had a plunger ejector instead of the blade used on true CRF rifles. When the 77 MK-2 first came out they went to the blade ejector, but some of the first years production still did not actually grab the cartridge rim. This was changed at some point during the 1 year of the MK-2's production. All MK-2's and Hawkeye's made since the early 90's are true CRF rifles.
