Bomar Cut?

Looks like it.

A few years ago Brownells had a fixed sight - from LPA, I believe - to fit the Bomar cut. I think that is what you show here.

I am in agreement.
If it isn't an actual Bo-Mar cut, it is close enough that it could be modified to the dimensions.

Be careful, the LPA cut and the Bomar cut are not the same. While the dovetail is the same dimension the location of the dovetail is different in the LPA and the Bomar. Springfield and Para use the LPA cut on their adjustables.

(It's always helps to mention the type of gun when trying to figure out what sight cut you have.)

I was trying to avoid mentioning the name of the 1911 involved...see, I only have this piece because I won it. Honest, I did not buy it. However it has become my "project" gun and is quickly sucking-up my grandson's college funds. He better get a scholarship.
The gun in question -- no laughing -- is an early Mitchell Gold Series `95 by Mitchell Arms Inc., Santa Ana. This is not the current Mitchell offering. I believe the frame and slide are Caspian-made. The fit is superb; the internals were crap. These have been replaced with C&S tool steel parts and Wolff springs and are terrific. It has a bushingless bull barrel. It's a great looking piece, just requires some expensive tweaking (is there any other kind?). It needs an adjustable target rear sight. The original is similar to the current, fixed Champion design.
Any ideas on the rear sight will be appreciated....Oh, I am also accepting donations to finish my project and put the grandson through school.:D
