70's movie. 5 mins. into movie, Clyde flashes large revolver tucked in his waistband, to Bonnie, new partner prospect. What is it? This is not a test, I want one.

If I remember correctly it was a Colt revolver

these were the standard army pistols before the 1911 pistol

*COLT new service .45 caliber revolver model 1907

*COLT army special .38 caliber model 1908

Don't know. Was this it?

Didn't the movie, though, portray Bonnie and Clyde using Tommy subguns when they were actually BAR and Auto5 shooters in real life?

The one he has in his hand in that picture above certainly looks like a Colt New Service. It doesn't appear to have a shrouded ejector rod, or a front ejector rod lug, which would make it a Smith.

The one that Bonnie has in the picture MAY be an S&W Military & Police .38, but it could also be a Colt. Kind of hard to tell at that angle.

definitly COLTs...

after seeing the picture I can tell these are both .38 caliber by the way the
barrels look, the barrels have a "slim" profile so they cant be .45 caliber.
They are most likely either Colt New Navy .38 caliber model 1892 or Colt
Army Special .38 caliber model 1908 they also have the standard
military fixed non adjustable front sites.

Saw that movie when I was in the 3rd grade at the Saturday matinee.

The only thing(s) I remember clearly are the hooters on the woman who they made undress so they could steal her clothes.

Guns? What guns?

Popeye:

If you want a Colt New Service (a.k.a. Model 1917) I think you have some recently aquired trading stock.

When the urge gets to be unbearable, just chant:

"I don't NEED to be tommy gunned in my car with Faye Dunaway" 25 times and the urge will pass.
