70's movie. 5 mins. into movie, Clyde flashes large revolver tucked in his waistband, to Bonnie, new partner prospect. What is it? This is not a test, I want one.
Could that have been S&W 1917 model? I had one in .455 Webley but they were also in ... what was it ... .45acp using half-moons ...... or .45 LC .. forget!
The one he has in his hand in that picture above certainly looks like a Colt New Service. It doesn't appear to have a shrouded ejector rod, or a front ejector rod lug, which would make it a Smith.
The one that Bonnie has in the picture MAY be an S&W Military & Police .38, but it could also be a Colt. Kind of hard to tell at that angle.
after seeing the picture I can tell these are both .38 caliber by the way the
barrels look, the barrels have a "slim" profile so they cant be .45 caliber.
They are most likely either Colt New Navy .38 caliber model 1892 or Colt
Army Special .38 caliber model 1908 they also have the standard
military fixed non adjustable front sites.
Look at the big front sight on Warren Beatty's gun. 1892 model didn't have that big of a sight. And, upon enlargement, it doesn't look like a slim barrel to me.
