I've been slowly organizing and going through 35 years accumulation of stuff. We moved to Texas in March of 2014 and built me a 30'x60' shop. So I've got plenty of room for all my stuff.

After working on my new reloading bench I decided to go through some ammo cans and get the stuff sorted and organized.

Popped open two .50 cal cans that I thought were full of assorted 12 ga shells. Underneath the loose 12 ga shells I found 360 rounds of PMC M80 Ball from 1982. Boxes still had the price sticker on them. I paid $4.59 a box back then. It was pretty nice to find all that M80 ball.

Good for you! A few months back my wife was doing some cleaning in our "out of season" closet and came across a plastic tub containing a half dozen boxes of .30 M2 FMJ Ball. It was given to me by my brother in law back in the late 60s/early 70s when he was a quartermaster at the local Armory. It was handed out extensively to those shooting in competition for practice. I believe this is why he had it. He's been dead for many years now and I can't bring myself to shoot any of it, even tho its still probably good.

Factor in price inflation and it's really no better than the current ZQI M80 ball prices.

Still a hot find!! :D

Always enjoy finding good stuff I had forgotten about. Winter is coming and coat pockets are sometimes a gold mine. Found 43 bucks in a hunting coat pocket last year. :D

Updated for inflation the ZQ is a bargain.

I snap up the ZQ whenever I find it in stock at Walmart.

Couple of months ago my wife picked up 12 boxes of the ZQ for me.

Shoot the ammo and remember your BIL fondly. Why save it for some goober to shoot after you're gone?

You guys are too lucky. My best score was a junk pocket knife in a pair of camo jeans.

Can go one better than that. I moved a few years ago and couldn't find one of my nicer pocket knives, a Gerber Trendy. Wasn't in the plastic tote where I keep my knives and wasn't in any of the pockets of my clothes. Thought for sure I had left it behind at the old house. And to make matters worse it had been discontinued so it would likely cost a bit more to replace it, if I could even find one.

Sometime later, while going through a box that had my watches and jewelry in it, lo and behold there was my Trendy; probably put it in there after taking it with me to some fancy party or wedding reception. Always a great feeling to find something like that!

Um, just this past Friday, I was cleaning out a closet in my office (work-not home) & found a...S&W 3913! :what:

Couldn't for the life of me remember why I'd put it there, but in telling my buddy about it, I came to remember that I had put my IWB holster on one day, then...forgot to put a pistol in it  so I had taken an extra pistol to the office in case it happened again.

It has, but since I had forgotten the 3913 was up there, I guess taking it to the office wasn't quite the brilliant idea I had thought it was at the time! :scrutiny:
