Book Recommendations

I am new to reloading. So new, in fact, that my press is currently en route from Dillon. I will be reloading .45ACP and .40S&W, mostly. I was hoping that someone can recommend a couple of books that will help me on my way. Basically I want some light loads for the range, and later I will progress into more power/accuracy, etc.

speer #13 is the benchmark by which i measure the other manuals. might also want the hornady handgun volume.

Couple of others to look for include:
The ABC's of Reloading
Lyman's 47th Reloading Manual
Both of these books give very good explanations of the mechanics of reloading process. More importantly they provide enough theory to give an understanding as to why things go boom in both a good and bad way.

"Modern Reloading" by Richard Lee. Book is somewhat self-serving but has some good info for beginners. It has become my go-to book for load data too.

The speer book is really good. If you want some good reading on reloading and cartridges then the books by PO Ackley are really good also.
