Does anybody know if there's a bore guide available for the Mk II series?
I always clean from the breach, but I've noticed a little wobble in the rod. It seems to me a bore guide, ala the type sold for bolt action rifles, would help keep the chamber factory-new.

Thanks,
John

I use a brass cone; same one I use to protect the crown when cleaning revolvers from the muzzle (but I do this primarily to keep the plastic coating on the Dewey rod from getting scraped off)...the knurled edge fits perfectly in the back of the receiver to keep the rod centered...that is the few-and-far-between times I actually break my Mk II down for cleaning (I'd hate to void the warranty ;) )

Couple passes with a Bore snake and a few Q-Tips dipped in Hoppes to knock the crud out of the chamber and faces also works well.

Void the warranty????!!!! Gack, what did I miss?

Thanks for the suggestions.

larryw's post makes me think I should just switch to a bore Snake to avoid the whole mess.

Thanks,
John

you can get good patches here:

only problem is that it is hard to push the nylon through the patch, so I put a stack of 5-10 patches on a 2X4 and use an awl and hammer to make a quck hole first. I have not tried it on my .22's yet, but it works great on my 9mm, .45, and .308
