bore liner

Both companies are quality names but take it with a grain of salt. If it was so good would not OEM companies be using them or at least promote them?

Maybe I don't understand, but that "barrel liner" sounds like some gunk you put in the barrel, not anything I would call a barrel liner (which is a steel tube, complete with rifling, that is inserted into a bored out barrel).

They certainly went all out on the web site. I confess to some skepticism, as I have seen a lot of products that made the same claims, from a Teflon product to something that looked like (and probably was) toothpaste. My only thought is that with that buildup, it should do perfect three-minute eggs and win the war in Iraq.

Everything OTIS sells works, I cant see why this wouldn't, they wouldn't mess with something that didn't. I'm no good as far as testing goes, I shoot lead boolits as a rule and they take awhile to wear anything out.

But then again, I have an old Berthier with a really worn barrel, maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

"Barrel life prolonged to Virtualy Indefinately"

Hmm, I always paraphrase sales talk into english:

"Barrel life almost prolonged by some unknown amount"

or the short form:

"It might do something"

Ill pass for now.

Hello, Squinty. As you may have discerned from my nickname, I know a little something about Microlon Gun Juice. Turns out I own the company.

Gun Juice does exactly what we advertise it to do, which is lightly coat the bore of your weapon with a dry-film lubrication. This dry-film will last the life of your gun (actually, it will outlive us) and continue to provide protection from rust, grime and fouling. It's not perfect, there may still be a bit of fouling but it will be minimal, even with copper bullets.

Now, if your bore has expanded beyond the point where the bullet makes contact all around, Gun Juice can't help you. Remember, it's a microscopically thin layer of lubrication, and it doesn't fill in big gaps.

If you have any questions, contact me via private message and I'll go into more depth.

The Otis stuff sure sounds like Xado, some of the claims are verbatim.
Label engineering, you think?
Don't wait on us to test it for you, squinty, fire off an order.

My favorite warranty claim ever "It is gauranteed for a very long time" .It was actually on the warranty for an electic clay target thrower you hooked to your vehicle battery.

AS long as I can hold my breathe?
As far as I can see you walk away?
As long as it takes me to type an essay?
As long as I can run?
As long as the battery lasts?

Pretty interesting claims can be made but "proof is in the pudding".

My dad tells a story of war time (WWII) There was a potatoe beetle out break and causing lots of problems .There was a product that was marketed GAURANTEED to kill the beetles, thru mail order.

Once you sent your $$ and got your package -----------

Instructions were "pick up wooden block A ,place beetle on top of wooden block ,take wooden block B and strike sharply on wooden block A", Gauranteed to kill beetles

I've used Microlon Gun Juice, good stuff. Had a Trailside pistol that, after 75-100 rounds, the bore was so fouled accuracy went to hell. Cleaned it thoroughly with a FoulOut to get every trace out, then treated it with Gun Juice. I've fired a couple of thousand rounds through it since, and the only 'cleaning' I've had to do is push a patch through to remove any powder fouling.

I've used it on trigger parts, too, and it does smooth things nicely.
