I've had a new P226 Elite Dark (that comes with the SIGLITE Adjustable Combat Night Sights) for about a month and have been to the range several times during that time. Every time I am shooting low. At the start I was really anticipating the shot and pushing down. At that time I had one of the store employees come into the range with me and shoot a box through my gun. He drilled the center of the target...so obviously it's me. My mistake was not asking him what sight picture he was using. That's on my list for the next time I go in there.
So I've been reading about sight pictures and how to minimize pushing down. In the process I purchased a bore sight from Sight Mark. When I put it in the gun this is what I found. When I align the top of the three sight fins (1 front/2 rear) (not the dots) the laser is pointing at the very bottom of the front fin.
When I place the tops of the two side/back fins directly in the middle of the white dot on the front fin...then the laser is pointing right behind that front dot.
If the laser is indeed correct then that would partly explain why i was shooting so low. But I don't like that as a sight picture. Trying to align fins and dots doesn't seem right.
Guess I'm just rambling here. Does this seem like a correct factory sight picture? I don't see where the manual explains how it was sighted from the factory.
