Hi All-

I was telling the owner of Bruno's reloading supplies about my newest copper remover (Copper Killer), and how I had to use it outside because the fumes are so bad. He recommended the Bore Tech product, as it has no smell, and works even better. I was skeptical because the Copper Killer was until now, the best I've seen, but I got some anyway.

All I can say is WOW! This stuff is exponentially the best out of about 10 of the most recommended brands of just copper solvents I've tried. I followed the instructions, but I let it sit about 1/2 hour after I brushed it, and the results are stunning, as confirmed by a bore scope. Check out the pic of some of the patches. It's hard to tell from the pic, but everything you're seeing is copper, not powder residue; it's all different shades of blue. It's also an all in one cleaner/lubricant. I found my forever cleaning/defouling product.

Someone finally did it!!! I can now chuck the whole shelf full of products I spent a couple hundred bucks on.

That’s great stuff’ I start with Bore tech c-4 then go to the Eliminator, some fellas use the proof positive jags and nylon brushes but I just go at it with a bronze brush and brass jags then patch down with alcohol and light oil.

I've used both, and that is a good question. I think that Eliminator is a mixture of CU+2 and C4 (Carbon remover). There's not much difference IMO, but if I had to choose I'd still take the Eliminator. I just think the patches get a little bluer.

Before I start with either I give a couple of doses of a carbon remover with some brushing. I give a slight edge to Slip 2000 Carbon Killer over the C4.

I've been using Mpro-7 for carbon followed by Cu+2 for copper. My handloads produce almost no carbon fouling -- DDNP primers and fast high-ng powders like Titegroup. The second patch is clean even after a hundred rounds, but I'll probably start shooting more cheap factory loads in NATO chamberings and then carbon will be an issue.

I've compared Cu+2 vs. Barnes Cr10 which is a potent ammonia-based solvent. They seem to work about the same, which means I greatly prefer Cu+2.

I've been using Shooters Choice ever since Hoppes changed their formula. I gotta admit I miss the smell of Hoppes. I plan to try Bore Tech when I run out of Shooters Choice. The guys at Sinclair that shoot were using Bore Tech a few years ago.
